We've got a total weirdo here, folks. A crazed "shrine maiden" who is actually a birdcage tsukumogami given the body of a corpse, becoming a vetala in the process, that has the ability to change the forms of objects, locking up non-converts and battles with a boss theme referencing the burning of witches. And I love her for that. EDIT: I almost forgot her name is a reference to a stinking giant flower.

I agree with you here. The reason why i like her is because her theme and silhouette gimmick make her fight creepy, but also because of the mystery around her spells. I had to search up what a panopticon and a zoetrope were and the meaning of selbsterkenntnis, or de røde sko. Still, i don't know why she has such references in her fight (and a reference to a death metal group too) but that's what makes her interesting.

Padma rakhsasa i did not realise it at first because patma is a common indian name. And in my country the same flower is called Pakma or rafflesia or "bunga pakma" (Malay) instead of the indonesian name padma rakhsasa ( Indonesian) where rakhsasa means monster or demon or in the flowers case something big. Ps the rafflesia is parasitic and takes all its nutrients from tje host plant which is in the grape family hence the plants on the cage*

I like how when you encounter her the heroine is pissed off while Padma's out here insulting and making fun of her. This also shows in her first nonspell when she moves very quickly and then approaches you, like she is taunting you, or before launching her last spell, giving you the illusion of beating her. For her, it's not a fight, *it's a game* .

Another thing I noticed is the lack of defeated sprite. She doesn’t look damaged or hurt in the slightest when she’s defeated. If there is, then stupid me, because I probably didn’t pay attention enough.

Fun fact: Padma Raksasa's name is the Indonesian term for the Rafflesia Arnoldii. A large flower that has a scent of rotting flesh which attracts to flies. This fits her title of the “Undead Molting Zeal” as well as her personality where she is a literal stinker.

It is so relaxing. No high-pitched notes usually present in other touhou songs, makes it a have a really ethereal, 'darker' atmoshere. Really creepy and fun to listen to.

Actually one of my favorite fan made character. She looks very intimidating and somehow sarcastic. I think this theme describes her personality very well. Dark, shady and sarcastic. It sounds like a run for your life theme. Given the circumstances, the theme is about not being trapped in a cage by her.

Padma is such a creep and a little shit and her theme reflects that perfectly. P much all the music in this game has so much color and character to it & I rly believe it rivals some of the best OSTs in the official Touhou games. Admittedly, I don’t pay attention to the OSTs of Touhou fangames but this one rly blew me away. I also like how it briefly incorporates the falling triplets you’d normally hear in Touhou games made roughly before PoFV, nice little nostalgic touch that doesn’t feel out of place w/ the modern-aligned style the game’s music has. Excellent stuff here!

Well no actually the Hardest stage 5 boss is i think a tie between Rin from SA and Normal mode Clownpeice from LOLK. But I can see Padma being in contention for 5th place… I mean she’s certainly harder than wimps like futo, Yommu, Resien and An, especially since salaryman is everyone’s favorite kind of spellcard (survival). I have a love - hate relationship with Padma as a character (Keep in mind I haven't played Sapphire Panlogism) Love: I really enjoy her theme, it gives her such a nice worrying mood which applies well to her character. The many ideas that went into the character is immense which is what made me even interested in hearing about the character. Her spellcards are pretty dynamic and look like a nice challenge. Hate: Although, I admire what she is based on... she is based on too many things... to put it bluntly. Her nonspells would probably drive me insane, because she is one of THOSE characters with one of THOSE nonspells (similarly to how Shou's nonspells are also pretty infamous for her curving lasers). And also, Padma is a bit too devoted to what she believes in (Not in her offense, but it just kind of obsessive...). Update: I finally decided to fight Padma... her non-spells give me anxiety and her spells are still very annoying, especially her first one. Post-Update (2 years later): I agree with the first reply to this comment. I literally have no idea why I wrote that she is based on too many things and is too obsessive back then. That's literally her character.
