@@UKBladeshow I need some new kitchen knives and you have inspired me to have a go at making my own so having bought some 1084 and 15n20 from gfs I am looking at designs and wondering if I should put the extra effort in and go for some sort of damascus build...first is a handle broach then a straight 1084 veggie knife to see how I go.....you never know I might be pants at small blade making ....scythes and billhooks I can make... small stuff who knows

Thanks friend for the very helpful video. I will try Rhynowet. I do a lot of hand sanding for I have very few power tools. Do you have a multi-directional sanding pattern or do you sand in one direction only? Thanks again.

Hi Richard! Good morning and thanks again for the comment! From my perspective, you should sand in one direction, but when you move to your next grit up, you sand at an angle against your previous direction so you can easily see whether you have any of the previous scratch marks you need to remove. I hope that helps!

What happened to the use of the disc sander? As I’m seeing you hand sanding again.

This kind of compound bevel isn't flat enough for the disk to be beneficial (or I'm not good enough at grinding on it yet) I use it a lot on smaller blades and stock removal knives though

@@harrytgough9101 yeah the way you explained the process of the blade shape it makes sense you’re not using the disc for that.
