I’ll be impressed if anybody reads this, but I just found this song today. My grandmother passed away about 3 weeks ago and it’s been rough for all of us, especially my mom and myself. I was laying in bed when I heard this song. My lights were out, I had mellow visuals playing on my TV, and this song came through the speakers. I instinctually closed my eyes at the drop, and I genuinely can’t describe the feeling I had. It felt like everything washed away and I was standing in the middle of all of this sound. I can genuinely say that this song changed me in ways I may never fully understand. To anybody who might be reading this, life goes on. You WILL make it to tomorrow, and you WILL feel alive again. illemnium spun this up during outside lands 2018 when the fires first hit cali. I have multiple family members who lost their homes and lives in the fires and ill never forget seeing one of my favorite artists live, playing another favorite artist of mines song with images of the fires burning in the background on stage. This song brought out something in the crowd. It was incredible. for about 3 minutes the only thing that everyone was thinking how happy and lucky and safe it was to be at this festival together. celebrating life in dark times. I wish the entire world of 2020 was in that audience. Old to young people heard this song they may not have otherwise. Black, white, brown, yellow pink, christians, atheists, agnostics, women, men, them, they everyone was there together. A darker, but beautiful song in a crowd of now dark conflicted but beautiful people. Excision we need you in 2020 more than ever.

When a talented artist makes something that's not their usual style but shakes your world when you hear it, that's not -just- music production anymore. In past times beauty like this would be considered divinely inspired and I can't really disagree. This to me feels very akin to those moments during psychedelic trips where you take inventory of all the amazing people and circumstances in your life and all the stuff you can't control, past pain, future fears and sources of anxiety are put into context.
