Watching this you realise how talented the Krankies are and how much pleasure they have brought audiences over so many years. Why no honours....MBE or something similar as recognition of this? What's the problem. This country in a just nuts! These two are a national treasure!

It's because they are either rude or suggestive in their comedy act. Or the Royals don't like them., or it could be that somebody with a OBE CBC do not reccomend them, which I find disgusting. Personally I adore them and as I type, aged 46, I am very pleased and proud to say they were very much part of my childhood entertainment and had me in stitches. If you asked me then I shall, without a doubt say that they have been robbed of something that was theirs. Not on at all.

Well Jimmy often said that he wished they had used their fame to do more for charities. They didn't become patrons of any. And later in life Jimmy said he regretted that so much. I know you don't necessarily have to do things for charity to get an honour, but it really really takes you up the top of the list. But I agree that they were quite talented, but the trouble is the comedy was of it's day. You only need to look at the audience to see that. Still they did quite well out of it, and live in a comfortable town, in their mid 70s now.

I remember watching this with my granny looking after us that night, this exact one, not seen this for 45 years but remember it with the bloke wearing a skirt but I was a 7 year old staying up late lol. Whenever I hear a bell ring the back of my mind always says ‘Members of the committee’. Amazing how things imprint on you as a kid lol. The good old days, I’d rather live through the70’s and 80’s again compared to now!

As a kid these guys were well into their career and I found it a bit creepy - but seeing this now its hilarious and brilliantly slapstick. Some 70s and 80s comedy has not aged well at all... but the humour in this clip is timeless :-)

Janet and Ian if you're reading this: I know when you invented the 'Wee Jimmie' character 40+ years ago, you calculated that every put upon, bossed about child would identify with and root for Jimmie, foil to the pompous and overbearing father figure. Well I was a kid in the 1980s and there wasn't a single episode of Crackerjack, the Electronic Komic of any of your shows where I wasn't waiting for Ian to finally flip and batter seven types of shite out of the wee prick....
