ఒక చెట్టు శాఖకు తలక్రిందలుగా వేలాడి తమ తప్పస్సును కొనసాగించారు , దేవేంద్రుడి కుమార్తె జయంతి శుక్రాచార్యులవారి శిష్యురాలినని చెప్పుకుంటూ అక్కడికి చేరెను ,శుక్రాచార్యులవారి క్రింద ఎండిపోయిన ఆకుల మీద ఎర్రకారం పొడిని వేసింది, మండే ఆకులనుండి వెలువడిన వాసన శుక్రాచార్యులవారి కళ్ళు,ముక్కు మరియు చెవులలో రక్తశ్రావం ప్రారంభమయ్యింది.జయంతి అతని బాధలను చూడలేక ఆమె తన నేరాన్ని ఒప్పుకొని, కాలకేతు మరియు హర్షల్ ను ఆ మంటలను ఆర్పమని కోరెను ,కానీ శుక్రాచార్యులవారు దానికి అంగీకరించలేదు , శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు దేవతలకు కలుగు విపత్తును వూహించినాడు .శివపరమాత్ముడు ప్రత్యక్షమైయి శుక్రాచార్యులవారికి సంజీవని మంత్రాన్ని ప్రసాదించిరి. జయంతి తన పాప ప్రక్షాళన కొరకు జీవితాంతం శుక్రాచార్యులవారికి సేవలు చెయ్య వలెనని కోరెను అందులకు వారు ఆమెను తన భార్యగా స్వీకరించారు .శుక్రాచార్యులవారు ఇంద్రలోకం ఫై దండెత్తమని దానవులను ఆజ్ఞాపించిరి.
Hanging upside down from the branch of a tree, Danav guru Shukracharya continues to perform his penance. Indra's daughter Jayanti arrives there and posing as Shukrachary disciple manages to put red chilli powder in the dry leaves burning underneath Shukracharya. The pungent smell of the burning red chillies chokes Shukracharya and his eyes, nose and ears start bleeding. Jayanfi is unable to see him suffering thus. She confesses her guilt and requests Kalketu and Harshal to put out the fire but Shukracharya forbids them to do so. Lord Vishnu foresees a calamity for Devtas. Shiva stops Shukracharya from continuing his penance and grants him the 'Sanjeevini Mantra'. To pay for her sin Jayanti offers to serve Shukracharya all her life. Shukracharya accepts her as his wife. Shukracharya orders Danavs to invade Indraloke.
