Ukraine Marines on the offensive in the Berdiansk direction / hromadske

"Everyone is waiting, counting how many boys have passed in a day, and there may even be several corpses of our boys 10 or 20 meters away," says "Papai", the chief sergeant of the 501st separate battalion of Marines, on the counterattack. He repeats the well-known phrase of the Commander-in-Chief that the counteroffensive is not a show, and reminds of the price that is behind each freed landing. His battalion as part of the 36th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilinsky is participating in the counteroffensive in the Berdyansk direction. This is symbolic, because the 501st battalion, restored after the infamous events in Mariupol, was based in Berdyansk before the invasion.
Berdyansk is like "that landing," says “Kompas”, the tank company commander, pointing to the horizon. "You can see it, but if you go on foot, it will be very difficult to reach it in such heat," “Kompas” says.
The Ukrainian military often talks about landmines as the main obstacle that slows down the offensive. But the russians, despite the fact that they were expecting an attack, are also facing problems.
"It is more difficult for them with logistics here. We constantly break their warehouses. HIMARS work, everything works. The enemy here goes crazy. There were days when they were just silent," says the commander of the “Wolf” UAV group.

"How is it for you to break through the first line of Russian defense?". . ."Oh, it's easy for us but I don't know about the tank!" 🤣 You just can't help but love the Ukrainian sense of humor! 👏🏻 I have been donating money for drones twice now with NAFO.69th Sniffing Brigade who are doing very good work, but their focus is on using all donations towards buying trucks for the UAF. which is super great! Only thing is I don't know if I'm buying drones or not! 😖 As I said I want to donate my money to buy drones exclusively because I believe they are very cost effective esp. after being modified by the Ukrainian clever tech. ppl. Especially now that I heard the drone operator mention that the State does not supply them, and they can only get the drones through voluntary donations from others. A drone that costs US$300 can do many reconnaissance tasks for snipers and artillery but can also terrorize/nullify the Orcs hiding in their trenches, but the best is that they can simply drop a cheap grenade right into the manhole of a US$3-5 mil. tank and destroy it! Now THAT is value for money. @hromadske So if you or anyone else knows where I can donate and be sure that my not inconsiderable money is actually buying drones then please send me the details. Excellent video!👍👍 Those in 'the west' who complain about the slow progress of the counter-offensive are not just uneducated and naive, they are also hypocrites. Why? Well, NATO/'western' doctrine includes having long range missiles to destroy enemy logistics, command & control, artillery, air bases & naval bases. NATO/'western' doctrine also includes having 'local air superiority' in the region where the breakthrough attacks are planned. For example, during the first war in Iraq, in the 1990s, the Coalition Forces used long range missiles and jets to bomb Iraq's infrastructure, supplies, defences, and air bases. They did this 24/7 for 42 days before the tanks and infantry were ordered to attack. The attack included an overwhelming number of helicopters, jets, tanks, artillery, and soldiers, and the Iraqi defenders had very little ammunition, food or fuel. Most of the Iraqi defenders on their front line just surrendered. Unfortunately, some people, some media/journalists and some politicians in 'the west' expect the AFU to dominate the Russians in the same way as the coalition forces dominated against Iraq. This is ridiculous, because the AFU has carry out their counter-offensive(s) without long range missiles (ATACMS, et.), without local air superiority, without starving the enemy first, and without an overwhelming advantage in tanks, artillery and men. Furthermore, the Russian military is much better than the Iraqi military was. Consequently, those people, media and politicians in 'the west' are not making a fair comparison, and they should already know that the AFU will win, but it cannot win the war in one or two months!

if "the west" wants ukraine to advance faster, we should have given them MBTs before kharkiv and jets before kherson... we should give them groundlaunched cruise missiles so they can target logistics deep behind the lines... we should send OUR AA-troops to lviv, kyiv, dnipro, kherson, kharkiv, odessa and so on so the ukrainian troops can fight the occupiers while we protect the civilians

I really like the fact that these men understand that the infantry is counting on them, they don't just find a nice hiding spot and boil water for tea, they don't just find a hole to hide from the artillery and fuck everything else. They have a job to do, and that is to give the infantry all the support that they can possibly give...and some. Those guys are their brothers. These guys understand that, and it makes me confidently.....?.…..ok, ok, happy. Wishing my Ukrainian friends the best of luck, which these men don't rely on more than they have to. The Ukrainian Armed forces has emerged into a Deadly and skillful fighting force, these people have proven to the world, myself included, that they are a very capable, very intelligent, most adaptable people. They are good people who care for each other. The Russians could learn a thing or two from these people. I'm a big supporter of Ukraine and their Legendary President, who by the way, is a Modern Day Hero. He's my Hero, that's for sure.
