I would disagree on Ukrainian and Russian languages being VERY different. My native is Lithuanian, I can speak & understand Russian quite well since childhood (however i never had Russian language classes in school or etc.) I would say every ukrainian has no problem speaking & understanding Russian at all, for Russian speakers understand Ukrainian is bit a challenge, but not as different language as you wont understand at all. As myself, i never had ukranian language in my life, but watching interviews of released Ukrainians POWs and etc. I understand what they are talking about, i have to look at some words in Google translate, and with every interview it becomes easier and easier to understand.

Hey, Ukrainian here. Our language is closer to Polish than russian. Our neighbor is unable to understand much more words than you think. If a western Ukrainian met a russian, a russian would understand 0%.

I watched a video of Matt Damon when he was 18 years old in high school in Boston and neither he or the others in the vid in his high school had any Boston accent a long time ago. I was surprised and it changed my whole perspective about people peddling their accents. That was more than 20 years ago. So how is it that this guy who came to Chicago at 10 and attended high school and still has a crazy Scottish accent? Typically the cutoff is 14 years of age, meaning, if people emigrate and assimilate before the age 14 they overcome and yet, there is his crazy extreme accent. Is he peddling a re-learned accent? You know, we are now 38 minutes in, and so far there is no mention of the guest having any military experience. Are we supposed to listen to 40 minutes of a a guy who seems to be an immigrant flashing an extreme Scot accent without any relevance to this channel? So many other channels to go to if you do not show the relevance. Mike, is it so hard to ask, why do you have that strong Scottish brogue when you lived here since you were 10?

Hell Tula is banned here in the US and what is left is .50 cent a round, Ridiculous for the cheapest steel Russian ammo made.. The whole reason I bought my AK was because the ammo was cheap, Now it cost as much as quality brass cased 5.56 ammo , Crazy it cost $15 just to fire a 30 round magazine alone.. I am currently trading my 7.62x39 for 5.56 and will likely sell my AK also and stick with the AR, Though I might keep the AK and about 2k of the rounds I bought for it 2 years ago for $300 a case which is now over $500+ shipped.

He says the difference between Ukrainian and Russian is like the difference between Spanish dialects. If you understand one you understand the other. I’m sorry but his idea about religion is completely off. He doesn’t under why it was changed. Different versions translate the same message in different wording because we don’t understand other languages or cultures that are dead and gone. Steve Gregg explains a lot of this very clearly.
