This compelling collection of vivid and powerful testimonies from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine is brought to life through Butler’s striking and intimate illustrations.
While reporting on the war in Ukraine, Butler created art that goes beyond mere representation; his drawings serve as a profound introduction to the people behind the headlines. From the metro stations of Kharkiv where people and animals took refuge, to the hospitals and bombed-out streets, Butler’s work captures stories of family, tragedy, and perseverance amidst the chaos of war.
