Taking territory is not the only objective. The Russians and North Koreans are taking heavy losses and failing to improve their tactics. The troops from Syria will provide some reinforcement but apart from that Russia does appear to be having trouble with troop numbers. They are taking land in Donetsk, but how long can they hold it with old men, recycled wounded, and North Koreans?
