The habitual assumption with Russia is that "General Winter" will save them, and that has certainly happened before. However, Russian winter offensives have typically involved plenty of non-Russians. And many, many of those non-Russians have traditionally been Ukrainians. I believe that I am right in saying that a significant majority of the troops that encircled General Paulus' 6th army at Stalingrad were not Russians, but Ukrainians. Not only that, but it seems quite clear that Russia has not been maintaining its military stocks, so what are the chances that the Russian army's winter gear has not been appropriately maintained or is simply not fit for purpose? The poor Russian soldier has been on the wrong end of 20 year old rations, so what chance they'll be issued 20 y.o. winter gear that has been poorly stored? Modern, well maintained winter clothing vs out-of-date, possibly rat-chewed winter gear that may not have been fit for purpose BEFORE going into storage? I know which side I'd be betting on, especially as Ukraine has been preparing for this for 8 years, while Russia seems have made the decision to attack based entirely on Putin's not having got his leg over one day last winter. In all honesty, I actually expect the inequality between Russia and Ukraine to be even more in favour of Ukraine in winter

Professor Michael Clark is simply the very best at informing the public about the war in Ukraine - He does it in such an easy comfortable style that is far beyond the reach of other analysts - He certainly needs no help from a studio assistant in delivering his brilliant informative analysis of the war; he manages to do so magnificently on his own - He has, in my view, turned war analysis commentary in to a veritable Art Form:

Nothing ironic about it, decades of a corrupted authoritarian theocracy that has pocketed most of the funds allotted for military r&d, equipment, training, maintenance and the like. What's left is outdated hardware and munitions, trucks, tanks and vehicles that have sat in storage for 10-20 years sometimes longer than that with no maintenance, and when they are brought out they're equipped with cheap Chinese tires, brand new equipment that's missing pieces and parts, lax or no annual or specialized training at all, the list goes on and on. Just a complete debacle and joke of any kind of leadership and a military that's more akin to a 3rd world country and not a modern superpower.

The Russian military having to withdraw their forces against a smaller military force that is located right across their own border shows how weak the Russian army is. The Russian military was just using “Smoke and Mirrors” to disguise their total lack of leadership, modern military equipment, training, and fighting strength. The Russian military has been riddled with corruption, incompetence leadership, poor moral, poor maintenance, an undisciplined army with political nepotism for the General staff for years and used it‘s propaganda to boost it‘s image to the world using just “Smoke & Mirrors“.

@@justicehenrydamian475 I wouldn't underestimate what they have left in them. They have numbers on their side. My hope is that: their resupply of ammunition will be ineffective, how many Russians read Korean or Chinese... 🤔, and winter, which starts in 4 weeks, will wipe them out while at the same time, disincentivise new recruits. Meanwhile, tough questions will be asked in St. Petersburg and Moscow with finger pointing inevitably ending up in only one place followed by a voté of no confidence.

Problem is, is that the EU caused this in the first place. In 2014, pro-EU rebels chased away a democratic elected Ukrainian president, just because he was pro-Russia. After that, the EU supported those rebels and helped them gain power. Zilenski was later elected under very questionable circumstances according to observers. That is why the east of Ukraine is still pro-Russian, as they are still bitter about the EU messing with their politics.

Best part about the massive area ukraine just retook, and being able to push on from it as being discussed- is that russia left behind all that equipment- literally tons and tons of supplies, tanks, bmps, and other vehicles- this means ukraines extra support they would need to bring up to secure the new lines and push on with their attacking force is already essentially in place- that saves ukraine so much resources they can either use to push forward in this area or shift to kherson or the south near zaporizhia - I really don't see how russia recovers from this- this is the first real offensive ukraine has launched and its simply because they were smartly waiting for russias culmination point- its not like ukraine couldn't of tried this earlier but they were waiting until russias strenght was adequately degraded- now that it is, I expect a few more massive attacks- 7 months has gone by where ukraine has been training nearly its whole population- meanwhile russia has just been continuously losing capabilities- with everything the west has sent and everything gained from russia itself- ukraine has achieved weapon superiority in most areas which is pretty shocking to say but it's true- I firmly believe if ukraine can mount 1 more attack like this no matter where it is on the war map- it will 100% break russia and break the Kremlin propaganda machine - and russia can act like they haven't started anything or will mobilize- but it won't do any good at all- all russias equipment is subpar to western systems by a huge margin- and the best of what russia did have has been long destroyed- when russia is currently having to buy ammo from North Korea and drones from iran- how in the world would they even equip any newly mobilized soldiers- its gone beyond a manpower problem- at this point russia just lacks actual military strength to do anything- if they call for mobilization and just continue failing it really will be the end of putin- but I don't think putin can mobilize even if wanted to- he's only sent in the poorest non ethnic russians from areas outside of the major cities - hardly any real russians from st Petersburg or Moscow have been forced into this war yet- there's an obvious reason and it's because if those people are forced into war- putin will lose all support

To be honest, many of those vehicles in this video were blown up or clearly damaged, they just weren't abandoned outright by fleeing Ruzzian troops. With that said, he does provide a great review of where the Ukrainian counterattack stands currently. He is so true that the Ukrainians don't need to worry about the civilian population attacking them since they are being liberated, not subjugated. With the Winter coming, the Ruzzians in Ukraine probably aren't ready for it and will have difficulty obtaining winter uniforms and other supplies as the Ukrainians step up their attacks on Ruzzian supply lines.

There are videos of an entire tank company that deserted their vehicles and fled.

Yes. The Ukrainian Armed Forces can exploit Russian weaknesses to their advantage in those harsh weather conditions as well if it can be properly executed. Always best to attack when your enemies are shaken and broken rather than waiting for them to recover and regroup. It is risky but Ukrainians can do it. I think they will liberate the whole NE area and at least threaten the Donbas region in the next few weeks before winter comes.

In other clips, some were abandoned and later towed by the victors. Others were left in the water when they tried to ford a shallow river.

It's true, the pictures don't quite fit the said but the net is full of pictures and videos that show that the Russians actually left a lot of vehicles and war material behind.

After Ukraine wins this war, NATO will be fools if they don’t allow Ukraine in , these guys have gone beyond proving themselves. They have made the second greatest army in the world become the second greatest army in Ukraine.
