Surprises me how clueless people are in the comments. Ukraine is targeting Russia at their most vulnerable, trying to trigger another front in Syria. Old school tactics. You either allow the main advancing enemy front have the most man power, or you sacrifice a small number of soldiers to fight abroad, allowing the rebels to be trained, to attack them and try and force another front to be opened. This will then make the enemy disperse more soliders to the second front, making the main advancing front weaker.

I guess it makes some sense, lainching small scale attacks on russian assets and personnel in other locations necessitates that russia relocate greater number of assets to defend these. Soldiers which couldve been used on ukraine, and it does seem to be working. There has been an increase in russian soldiers being sent tosyria/sudan to defend russian/wagnar oil refineries and good mines.

@@viewerssejati8940 You're about 12 years late for that to be true, if it ever was. The FSA containing actual Syrian components ceased to exist in mid 2014. Idlib is now a Turkish proxy and the FSA brand name has been usurped by them. The Gulf Arabs have given up though, which means ideologically driven Daesh (JFS, Nusra, etc) types more rare these days. Except, in the Golan, Sinai and Dar'aa where they still have direct access to their OTHER sponsors... and in the north with the remnants of Tahrir Al Sham. Go on though, name the unblemished rebel faction with a square inch of land or more than a half dozen men that the AFU could possibly be working with...

isis held approximately a third of Syrian territory before Russia came to help liberate Syria from the terrorists. Russian troops arrived in Syria at the behest of Syria, isis was defeated.
