Without another mobilization, the Russians will not be able to stop the Ukrainians. We talk to Joe Lindsley about „Ukrainian corruption”, the myths of which, fuelled by Russian online trolls, do a lot of damage to organizations that support the defence of Ukraine. According to the American journalist living in Ukraine since 2020, a deeper look at the case shows that most of this corruption has its roots not in Ukraine... but in Russia.

I saw the most wonderful report of a new animal shelter in Kiev that wasn't supposed to open for weeks but opened early to take in these animals rescued from Kherson. It is a beautiful place and each kennel is temp controlled and big. It is a beautiful shelter!

Here are a few reasons why not to send the armies (yet): - Any NATO country sending troops to fight into Ukraine wouldn't be covered by the NATO article 5 anymore, meaning even a nuclear attack against them wouldn't obligatorily bring a response from NATO... - Most NATO countries don't have all military capabilities but bring some specialization to the NATO whole. - Poland, the most likely to want to intervene directly, hasn't yet received all its new equipment - If all of NATO were to agree to all go together, a huge massive flow of men, machines and air power would suddenly fall down on the russians who would most likely panic. Panic on such a scale is bad, as incoherent irrational decision can be taken in a state of panic. - If all of NATO were to agree to all go together, that would mean a war between Russia and NATO. Even if NATO were to try and limit the fighting to the ukrainian territory alone, what would prevent Russia from attacking the baltic state, which would transform it into a global conflict that would become very frustrating if NATO tries not to invade Russia. And if NATO invades Russia and wins, nuclear weapons would legitimately be used -> nobody wins. - if NATO were to agree to all go together, the rest of the world might react pretty badly, changing the current equilibrium. Currently, despite the rethoric of the "south vs north", the US and europeans benefit from quite good relationships with the majority of the world. They could lose it easily and that would be very problematic for them. And of course, the cynical realization that western countries can "win" this war without losing a single man nor having been shot at at all, which is very good for popular support. If Can't imagine how much Reagan would have laughed if he had been told he could win a war against Russia, crippling their military to no end, for $100 bn and 0 casualties.

Since you said win a war against Russia, means that NATO is at war with Russia, cause how can you win a war if you are not at war? Also what would win in this war for NATO and USA mean, how does a win look like? In December 2022, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin told congress that to replace equipment sent to Ukraine they will need 300 billions, since that even more is sent so just in military equipment and just for USA it is more than 300 billions. The supply of old weapons to Ukraine is good for both weapons production in USA and the military, the cost of supporting Ukraine is miniscule compared to the Federal budget. I am absolutely sure the USAAF has been trying for years to get money to replace their aging aircraft with F-35 and F-22 but could not get Congress to approve the money. Likewise the Army and Marines will have the opportunity to get more of the latest and greatest weapons to replace stocks of older weapons. The only ones losing out are the Navy as they will still need to plead the case to decommission older ships and upgrade their weapons systems. As most USA weapons are produced in the USA this will also be a boon to the weapons industry, creating more jobs for workers in the USA and helping to drive the economy for years to come.

I've seen how fronts once touted as invincible collapse within the space of a few days, or max a few weeks. The same sentiment is now apparent in Ukraine with the UAF's offensive, Russian positions could very well begin to collapse in domino style as Ukraine pushes more and more forwards and retake back the lands captured earlier by Russia. Russian morale is low, Russian troops have long understood that this big mess is not about the even bigger lie of the 3 Day Limited Ops of February 2022, they long since knew that this was a big farce by the Russian Terrorist mafia gang led by Vladimir Putin. A big number of Russian troops do not have the appetite for this war, personally I expect mass desertions to start taking place not far from now. Putin knows well, that when such scenarios begin to take place, his very own life, together with that of his gangs of thieves will be at risk, we shall see.

remember that the bahkmut city 60k est casualties can in theory be added to the soledar losses ( which were staggering for both sides ) because soledar was the stepping stone and bahkmut suburbs could only be approached after soledar fell , so technically soledar and bahmut were the same single objective, i mean are they measuring losses within the city or wagner knocking on the door since aug 2022 until they probed north to soledar ... the losses are a lot higher than 60k if you take that into account

Ukrainian units are attacking at platoon strength in multiple locations and showing successes. When Ukraine starts using company-sized attacks, it will be after the Russians have fled their defensive lines. When whole brigades are committed, they will cross over former Russian defenses, scatter into smaller units and takes dozens of towns simultaneously. The fear of a major offensive is causing Russian forces to collapse. Russia can’t defend every town behind their static defense lines, so they have to have it hold.

In another report, my understanding is there were only two mine sweeping vehicles, one Leopard tank, and a "handful" of Bradley fighting vehicles. There were additional Bradleys thrown in to help extract the soldiers after they got caught up in the ambush. Thomas I think is right about the reconnaissance. It was severely lacking at the onset of that mission. Regarding the decision to throw in the secondary Bradleys, that seems to be controversial. Although, unlike the Ruzzian way of doing things, you never want to leave your own men behind to get slaughtered.

I would like to discuss some of Thomas's assertions. He mentioned 4 of 10 brigades being used in current phase of attack. That matches the number of Western trained and equipped brigades generated over winter. Since western tanks and BTGs were damaged in the attack it appears that at least some of those new brigades were in the initial attack. Thomas also states they were "not the best Ukrainian brigades" and that those 10 new battalions would be used in the second and third phase of the attack. I disagree He also blamed the failed attack on poor leadership. You compared the style of attack to recent failed russian ones in Vuhledar. I agree with both conclusions. Those conclusions suggest a problem in the Ukrainian forces. The 10 newly equipped and trained brigades are being misused (and wasted) by soviet style commanders. They have to be "cut loose" from soviet trained commanders and left to be independently commanded by western trained officers. Who may be significantly junior to normal commanders ...
