Russias end goal is control over Ukraine. The only reason Putin doesn´t want Ukraine to join NATO is not because he is afraid that NATO would invade Russia but for that would make it impossible for him to threat Ukraine anymore and therefore control it. If NATO really were a threat Russia would have invaded Finland (that also borders to Russia) the moment they applied to become a member in NATO.

Angela Merkel said in 2022 that the agreement had been "an attempt to give Ukraine time"; Reuters reported that Ukraine used this time to strengthen its armed forces.

Focusing on the cost of the war to Russia, as if Ukraine has the means to last for “as long as it takes” is grossly misguided and is what has been labelled as ‘fighting to the last Ukrainian’. It is a cynical way of trying to save NATO’s face at the expense of a whole generation of young Ukrainians. These clowns are conveniently forgetting that the Ukrainian frontline is on the brink of collapse, that Ukrainian conscripts don’t want to fight and are deserting the battlefield, that Ukraine is losing more and more territory every day. Instead, they keep hoping for Russia’s miraculous collapse, just like they have been doing for the past three years to no avail. The fact of the matter is they have no idea how to deal with a Russia that is not what they banked on in their initial calculations, so instead of recalibrating, they just keep on hoping that their original miscalculations will somehow miraculously work out. Pathetic.

almost 3 years of war and 6 months of occupied Kursk + none of the annexed oblasts is controlled by russia, and russia is still winning?
@anjafark18 сағат бұрын
Still, Russia today controls less ukranian territory than in summer 2022. During the last year Russia advanced less than 50 km deep into Ukraine even though they threw in men and material in exessive numbers and even asked North-Korea for soldiers.
@trqster18 сағат бұрын
@anjafark yes of course, that's why Ukraine is winning. Don't forget also about just 85.000 Ukrainian soldiers lost (Zelensky's figure) in comparison to almost a million russian soldiers...
@anjafark17 сағат бұрын
@trqster I don't know your numbers and I think, that we probably will only learn the real numbers from both sides long time after the russian war has endet. It makes no difference to me if there are 800.000 or 1.800.000 russian casulties. Most of them made the decision to go and fight for money by themselfs. Theire fellow Russians don't care either and I think Putin will manage to still find human replacements for quiet some time.

Stoltenberg's both smart and soothing to listen to. That Norwegian way of being both extremely clear, but also not to get carried away is the way to be a true world leader, no matter the size of the country you're from. Yermak's also a very good ambassador for his task to keep Ukraine a free and independent nation. Russia's full fledged invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 made us all realize that the freedom and liberation we all celebrated in 1991, was totally gone.
