These guys are getting to good at this it’s insane hitting moving targets like that you can tell they’ve had a ton of practice I can’t imagine the amount of Russians these drone operators have killed with these grenade drops plus the amount of destroyed vehicles and crew members from guiding in artillery these drone operators are some of the most important asset in this war and have helped inflict massive amounts of damage on the enemy

Yes, Although drones are cheap, but "good operators-ready-for-battle" are not many.besides of good at aiming & reporting enemies locations. Ukrainian operators have to hand-make all those drone bombs. usually have to stay at front line because drones have limited range. They have to be able running fast because Russians will take every chance to kill operators firstly.

I'm assuming part of it is Hollywood showing us unrealistic grenade explosions and part is that these are outdoors and the concussive blast isn't as focused as in a building. Adrenaline plays a part too I'll bet.

they used to use a heavier one but you can carry only 1 payload and that is good against tank but russia is running out of tank so they developed a lighter one that can carry multiple against multi target soldiers.

There's a bit of RNG involved. If it drops on a good elevated spot it will have higher range. If it drops on a depressed spot the range will be limited. In any case this is serious business, we don't see the shrapnels flying around. And the fact that the guy is running doesn't mean his necessarily ok, adrenaline is a hell of a drug. He might be hit in the hand which will render him unable to shoot effectively. So it's seriously dangerous hence psychologically draining.

They are usually repurposed VOG grenades, old Soviet era 40mm grenades containing only 48g of explosive that were designed to be fired from a grenade launcher similar to the M203. Because they explode on impact their effectiveness is limited on soft ground and usually results in leg and lower body injuries if it lands within a few metres.
