XT: WCL update: Pummeler dmg was no longer counts so don't LB them. Algalon: WCL update: P2 adds no longer count so ignore them. Also while in the upside down during big bang you can precast a Flamestrike where Algalon is standing for a little extra dmg. Auriaya: Your raid can feign death reset Auriaya where she will spawn 30 seconds later in front of the hallway leading down to Vezax. Utilize this with precasted Flamestrikes for max dmg. Hodir: WCL update: no longer counts, completely removed from all stars and character page and overall dmg parse. zzzzzzz Thorim: WCL update: Aura of celerity is now BANNED and will get your log blacklisted so don't bother. Firefighter: Get hop before flame suppressant in phase 1 to not get the debuff. Also, flamestrike precast prob not worth if it'll proc your trinkets off CD. Vezax: Ignore my shit about casters making deals. Have everyone pump Vezax down to 5% asap. You can also get a DI while waiting for the animus and then use a macro to cancelaura off the DI and immediately use a mana pot and mana gem to get some mana back. This works as it takes a server tick for the Vezax debuff to apply to you. Can also be done with a brez or soulstone. Yogg: Firestarter not needed in P3, can also just chain LBs. For a good ranking you'll need constant spawned adds in P1. Skip 2nd Freya Fire Ranking, got put in there twice by accident, sorry all!

amazing video. somethings i learned about hodir, you can eat 1 flash freeze as Iceblock gets you out of it, allowing you to stay and greed more (if the flash freeze isnt conveniently close) same for vezax too, you can iceblock to stay in a crash or take off the mark of the faceless. iceblock is only 15mana also im kinda blown away by arcane on hodir. im gonna have to try it now

Love the hodir part where you said the way to parse is to find that light + fire that nobody else sees. Lmao I like to parse but sometimes its kinda hilarious that the others have to play bad in order for you to parse good. Keep it up man, love the mage content! Very great stuff! learned a lot here

That's why I think parsing on a lot of fights is dumb. The RNG aspect of it makes it out of your control. Imo progging bosses at launch is the best challenge. Trying to do the most damage once BIS'd out is so far below that.

First off, great video and I'm loving your content! Could you please explain what exactly is the rationale for skipping arcane barrage in the talent tree? Is there a scenario where you would ever recommend someone taking it? For context, I often end up in clowny pug raids where the tank could just randomly be dragging the boss way out of my range and I regularly have to move more than an optimal scenario, so I find it helps a lot for my positioning and avoiding damage because I can barrage > fire blast > barrage on fights like XT hard mode when I get targeted with a bomb. Am I just wasting my mana doing this? Ideally I try to only use it immediately after arcane missiles if possible so I don't expend my arcane blast stacks on it. I'm currently using the IA spec (2/3 IA) with arcane barrage, but I'm also considering doing 1/2 magic attunement instead. Thanks for all the info you've been putting out there, it's been a big help. Yup you can take abarr and it's still a good talent for movement and there's definitely an argument for it. I no longer take it just because I try and use my movement for other things and I prefer the extra range over it, but it's still a good talent for movement and it sounds like you're using it how you should too, so def keep doing what you're doing. It's just a personal pref kind of thing.

Love your content and insight. During your gameplay clips, I'm not seeing your Molten armor buff. Is there an addon that removes it from view or are you forgetting to renew it during the encounters?

Yeah I try to hold where it makes sense but yeah can't hold too long with flare, can take forever to proc sometimes. Amazing trinket but you can def feel that 10% sometimes

Hey crateria! Much love from Norway and thanks for all the guides. I have a quick question. Could you explain how Ignite works with consecutive crits? Some say it stacks some say it doesnt. Does it refresh Ignite or add onto the current ticks?

It resets the duration and adds new ignite to what's left of the current ignite. It's basically just an extra 40% dmg from your crits.

Isn't it better at Razorscale to stay beyond 30 meters range so you don't get knocked up and can keep casting instead of standing in almost melee range to pop one single sapper charge? At least as a fire mage where you don't have mana problems anyways?

Loving the vids. Was wondering if there is a reason you're using FFB spec if I'm correct in this video when playing as Fire rather than TotW spec. Is it a hit raiting thing or is FFB known for more damage due to double dipping on crit? Thanks in advance

Both specs are viable and are very close on dmg, gear will determine which spec does better. FFB with a FM should out dmg fire ttw in terms of personal dps. Check my fire ttw vs ffb section in my Ulduar Specs guide video for futher explanation.

Weakaura called debuff on nameplates. It's in the "general" pastebin of weakauras which are pinned in the weakauras channel in my discord.

he only has lf, dc, and eye, and I need the hit as ttw for lf. I used lf on hodir even tho I was ffb since I could line up the trinket use with full cd's rolling, altho I got fucked on storm power so that didnt' happen

I like to cancel cast myself with movement because there's a lot of times I'll mash an ability to have it go off right after my spell finishes and then I go right into my next spell after that. If you use cancel casting then you have to time it right at the end of your cast instead

I go ffb for fl, hodir, and vezax. TTW for everything else. In your case I would switch as needed, its quick and easy to do. Arcane for FL, council, and vezax. Thorim too if you can play IA well on it.

I use Weakauras to track ICD's (head to my Twitch and type !weakauras to find them) and then I use tellmewhen to track certain buffs and place them closer to center screen

I would still run to help with proc for next ramp up yeah. Would only use at 0 stacks if you DPS is still that low in your raid that you have "time" to squeeze out extra dps out of your mana like that

I don't get your logic on vezax, the log freezes at 5% so you just want to get it to 5% fastest for best parses, no need to take turns with casters... ? This is the reason why it isn't removed from all stars from WCL admins too. Hell taking turns could be lower dps because you'll go oom having to do more casts than normal

The log doesnt end at 5%, it just pauses. Its to prevent ppl using heals to add more hp to the boss to get extra dmg since everyone has to wait for the animus to spawn for hardmode.

Also nah there's more dmg per mana than there is dmg to be had. A few casters sitting out will mean other casters have more dmg they can do in the same amount of time.

@@Crateria I know, it also unpauses after the add spawns. The frozen time is removed from the dps calculations so there's no benefit to letting someone pad more damage like you would let someone AoE all the adds down themselves. All the top parses are kills that get it to 5% as soon as possible, not dragging out the fight to funnel. you can just read discussions on WCL discord and these are the reasons given by the mods there. There will be some gain for fire because of execute phase being longer but for arcane should be very small differences
