Dont think Urvashi was manipulative when she gives the property to Parvathy! That shows the strength of her character Where she respects Parvathy for the duty she bestowed upon her ailing husband even for a small Period of time! Otherwise she could have given to her daughter! Its just that she wishes rhat Parvathy should Stay with her as she saw Parvathy as her sons wife! All This shows the unconditional love the mother has for her son and How she gives dignity to Parvathy !! Urvashi n Parvathy are excellent But i felt Urvashis character was wrotten with more Depth!

Totally agree with you on the climax part. It was predictable very early and didn't give a satisfaction. Otherwise the film beautifully brought how fear of society makes people take immoral decisions! How these 2 women came out of judgements and started living as per their 💕 hearts

What made the movie work the most for me was the story and how the female characters were written that i was ao convinced the weiter was a female..no typical male gaze at all.. the climax decision by Parvathy was the highlight. I dont think men would ever make such a decision or even understand & here is how Christo Tomy to me is a man written by a womamln. Hats off! Amazing movie..intense though

The story didn't quite for me....all flawed characters, but they kept giving gyan to the heroine and made her feel guilty to have an extra marital affair. When they all bloody lied to her before marriage and dumped a sick guy on the poor girl. The mother, the mother in law, the husband could have at least hinted that before marriage. Ok, so the boyfriend was also a gold digger, so what? The ending should have been that the heroine picks up life and stands on her own feet and discovering a new path on her own. Not having a hobsons's choice and go back to a toxic family, because that's exactly what the society would have loved. Malayalam movies usually break the stereotype, but not this one. Big let down.

The film makers chose the subtitle as undercurrent. It is the better translation than using innercurrent.

What is "inner currents" ? there is no term like innercurrent in relationship with flowing water.. literal dot word translation of many Malayalam words in English has no meaning. "Undercurrent" is phenomena of water flowing below the surface which is called Ullozhukku in Malayalam. what is wrong is the Malayalam word "Ullozhukku" as water does not have inner and outer its above and under.

I didn't find the philosophy behind the movie novel. There has been several dark movies and a lot more web series and short movies along this line. In fact this also should have been a 30 minute short movie. At 17 minutes I started feeling bored with the directors repeated attempts to convince me all human beings are somewhat flawed and the morality we project as the bedrock of society is not built on strong ethical conviction. I went to watch the movie expecting to see two heavyweights going full distance. But Urvashi was winning from round one and knocked Parvathy out even before midway. I felt the dialogues were poorly written and failed to help the actors bring out their best. The background score also added nothing to the scenes or rather took away much from the scenes. I am disappointed but I will certainly watch such movies paying money and would also recommend others to watch them because the director is making an honest attempt to create a good movie. He was convinced the subject was going to be a winner and put all his faith in it. No side stories, no songs, no masala. It turned out rather bland is secondary.
