He didnt just go around slaughtering people for no reason, didnt just randomly cause destruction ect ect. The thing is he ironically feels the most human because he is the only villain not driven by emotions. He isnt stopping ichigo because he hates him, because hes angry, because of his pride or ego...Ichigo is stopping the plan so he will stop ichigo..thats it. Ichigo is oddly similar to people like Urahara, mayuri and Zaraki to me. They only step in if they are directly ordered to or the issue at hand interests them. I love how in the anime, both of Ulquiorra's voices give us a different take of the character that accomplishes the same thing. In Japanese, Daisuke Namikawa has this calm, deep voice that makes his threats quite jarring. Meanwhile, in English, Tony Oliver provides a bit of a softer sounding voice that doesn't sound intimidating at first, but that kind of makes his threats quite unnerving.
@reddybread81403 жыл бұрын
Alot of people think that Ulquiorra had feelings for Orihime thats why when he was fighting ichigo in jueco mundo he says Orihime is already 1 of them and he acts like he wants to keep her for himself. Also Orihime reaches out to him twice when he fades away into ash. And then Ichigo mentions how Orihime seemed more affected by Ulqiuorras death then Yammy did. I dont know how true it is but there definitely has been quite a bit of evidence presented on the subject including poems from both characters in different manga issues like the 1 you presented in thus video The Lust. It supposedly shows his lust and interest for Orihime because her helping him understand the heart gave his life meaning, and made him curious to learn more about human concepts. That might be an interesting subject if it is better analyzed and proved or disproved.

Aizen clearly showed that if Yamamoto had released it , he would have killed everyone in the fake karakura town which would have been a very sh**ty way to end the series. Also even if he released it , it wouldn't really matter as it's been stated and shown by Aizen that the more damage and "fear of his life being taken away" he experiences, the stronger he becomes as the hogyoku will proceed to evolve him.. besides if Aizen took Yamamoto hado 97 with no single damage, I mean it's not far fetched to say he'd probably just take on bankai Yamamoto and he has the advantage, he can simply use kyoka sugietsu because he can't hold on to Aizen's sword throughout the fight and Aizen has ridiculous regenerative feats..

Something that's also interesting about Ulquiorra is that he seems to be an anomaly hollow-wise. He's a Vasto-Lorde and it's been shown (albeit mostly filler only) that you still need to consume souls to keep your power set. However, Ulquiorra's Hollow Form made it so he has no hunger as well as no possibility of eating/consuming souls, which correlates to his questioning of the Heart since he couldn't consume a similar concept, souls. Also the obvious Segunda Etapa that gives him a demonic look akin to a Lucifer imagery but also is an inversion of colors for Ulquiorra : He turns into a darker form at the end of his life, when he finally understands the heart and emotions, while his nihilistic views were represented by his pure white color scheme.

I honestly want Kubo to make a show with Ulquiorra as the main character. Like what if, after Ulquiorra faded away into ashes, something causes him to be born again? I find it unfair for Ulquiorra that Kubo decided to kill him off just as we were seeing a new layer of who he was underneath the thick layers of nihilism that forged his way of life. We knew he had some sort of feelings when the people he wanted to find companionship in rejected him. His eyes showed deep sadness upon being denied, in a way, friendship. He was lonely and stuck in an existence that he found no value in, he couldn't interact with anyone, he didn't look like everyone else, and he couldn't do anything anyone else could do such as talk, eat(which explains why he's so lean), smell, laugh, smile, hear(probably), interact, etc. Its like he was made to be isolated. Of course he'll find no meaning nor value in his hollowed existence. It's depressing and lonely, especially when the only connection you have with the outside world is your eyes. Which explains why there's no other color on him except his eyes. But think about it. He has no meaning/value/companionship in his hollowed existence, he's created(physically and literally) to be isolated rather he wanted that or not, challenges those who find meaning and value through the heart, finds the heart and value in it, and then dies before he can explore the heart he just discovered. Turning him back into isolated nothingness that his hollowed existence started out as. To make a long story short, his existence... is cruel. It's torment in the form of hollowed life. It's so bad that the only solace he found was in the form of a white (just like him), empty (just like him), isolated (just like him), meaningless and valueless (just like he views himself and everyone/everything around him) tree/bush thing that he submerged himself into just to alleviate the pain of his hollow life. I guess, in a way, he found companionship in something that was just like himself. It kinda makes me wonder what his human life was like before becoming hollow and what his role would be if Kubo brung him back to life.

Tite Kubo really cares about Ulquiorra’s design. I think it’s why he represents Ulquiorra with those marks coming from his eyes and going down until his chin which are really similar to tears. Those “tears” represents Ulquiorra’s sadness for not understanding the meaning of his existence. If you notice well, every time Ulquiorra released a new form, his “tears” became larger and larger as to emphasise this sadness. However before disappearing and after understanding heart’s true meaning, he came back to his normal form, the one with the lightest “tears” as to express that his sadness decreased.

Well obviously the people who bring it up care. I do love the Hueco Mundo arc and I adore the Espada especially as a group of Hollows half of which are too headstrong and independent to actually follow him wholeheartedly except for no other reason than he's stronger than them. Aizen's strength representing something for Ulquiorra to find some kind of purpose in and representing something for Stark to find allies strong enough to stick around and keep him company and etc etc. Yes, the character writing is good. The characters are good. The art is good. The setting of Los Noches is super fun and interesting. The story arc IS a rehash. There's not much even if its true to that. You can argue there's some differences to it but its 100% invade place and rescue friend who is captured arc. It is in fact possible to critique an arc for having a poor rehashed plot structure and still acknowledge that other parts of the arc are well done and fun. The characters are super fun and memorable and the plot is......the same as last season pretty much. This weird logic of "well this other part of the story is good therefor criticism of any other part of it is invalid" is the most baffling fanboy logic to me. I love Bleach to death but oh my God is this knee jerk defensiveness so exhausting to see.

What always gets me is no one ever seems to mention is that line by Kaien, it may have been in a filler arc but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. Kainen asked Rukia where she thought the heart was, to which she replied her chest. Kiaen claims to believe it is in his hand because ‘Every time you and I interact...a bit of "heart" is born between us. Heart isn't something inside you. But whenever you think, whenever you remember someone, that's when heart is born. I mean, if you were the only one alive in the whole world, heart wouldn't exist, now would it?’ This line always seems to add way more meaning to Ulquiorra’s last scene and why he believes his hear is right in his hand, even the visual of them reaching for each other’s hands. Something very interesting about Ulquiorra is his unconscious desire for an equal relationship. If he just searched for a relationship to share something with someone else, he would try to create special bonds in Las Noches or hire a Fraccion. Indeed, he's surronded by lots of Arrancars and some Shinigamis, some of them are able to "feel" human emotions (Starrk, Gin...). However, he never tried, not even asked them about feelings and heart. He unconsciously knows the wild and violent atmosphere in Las Noches wasn't appropriated at all. Orihime was the only one who could create a sincere and equal relationship (despite her status as a prisoner) with him. She's litterally her confident, he talks to her about almost everything without taboo. We'll probably never know what he felt for her at the end. Affection? Friendship? Love? Or nothing because his knowledge of the heart was too immature?

I found it interesting that Grimmjow and Ulquiorra impale their victims through places where their own holes are. @@simondooley6949 Probably trying to make other people have the same thing missing in their body/heart/soul/life so they feel less......I dunno not exactly inferior but so the world matches them more. Like they subconsciously can't stand to see something else have what they don't. They are known as hollow creatures so it makes sense when they see something having what makes a literal hole in their body and heart it triggers an instinctive response to take it away so they aren't reminded of what they're missing in their life. Like if you're super envious and someone has a really attractive face you might want to punch them specifically in the face even if you aren't aware of why you want to hit them there so bad but if you make them ugly you won't feel so ugly. Maybe Grimmjow wants to put a hole in people's stomach who don't feel his ravenous need to prove himself stronger. He did get upset when the other hollows said we see no point to eating more hollows we aren't getting stronger. And its like he resented them for not feeling this unending need to destroy and devour more and more. How dare you not be burdened with this gluttony I hate you for that but I don't know why or if I do know why I won't reveal that weakness but I have to make you know I hate you for this therefor...your cowards for giving up I'm superior for consuming more and not accepting my limitation. When in reality its actually his weakness and inability to STOP consuming that is pushing him forward but he lies to himself and says its a strength. Ulquiorra on some level hates/can't comprehend others having the ability to feel meaning in the world and Grimmjow hates people who aren't consumed by this hunger so they want to give others that flaw so they don't have to look their own weakness in the eye. Well shit I just accidentally talked my way into realizing more enjoyment out of hollows.

I have watched many animes but the psychological impact of Bleach is undeniably well-felt. It is as you stated in the video that it is the way kubo reveals characters by behaviour rather than by words. Demeanor can have a big psychological impact on the viewer, thus the feelings toward characters are exponentially magnified. I love other animes too. But Bleach for me takes the icing on the cake in the silent way characters are portrayed. I guess this is why we love Bleach and unfortunately many other empty minded individuals fail to see its true symbolic meaning.

In my opinion Ulquiorra embodies the individuals who are accomplished in life and competent in their area of practice yet suffering from a stem of lack of meaning and fulfillment in their lives.Such people often observe the people around them and wonder what metaphysical experiences life gave them but denies them. It is not that ulquiorra cannot feel emotion,it is that he does not understand them. This is quite frustrating and he copes by simply brushing them aside,while it makes him very objective and trustworthy in tasks it leaves the world colorless and he desires to strive to live up to something. Notice how he projects this frustration when beating up ichigo,he wonders how he can have the will to keep clinging to his sword as if he believes he can beat him,he is angry because ichigo strives for something while he is simply mechanical as a robot. Orihime was simply a pure embodiment of feelings,beliefs and emotions to Ulquiorra thus he harassed her to see if it was simply a delusion or something real to which orihime proves him wrong.She makes Ulquiorra desire such a feeling. Ulquiorra is a nihilist,but his nihilism is well challenged to which he gladly accepts as shown in his end.that was his turning point. A well written character indeed.

What's most interesting to me is that, as any author or creator can attest, no matter what you do you always end up with favorites within your creations and thus put more effort into them than other aspects of that work. Ulquiorra seems clearly to me to be one of Tite's favorite characters there's just so much extra effort in both his designs throughout the manga and anime as well as the utmost effort in his backstory and philosophical backstory. He's written and developed beautifully and the VAs definitely did him justice in both english dub and the original japanese. Definitely hate that people type fast ulquiorra as "the edgelord" character as it's not befitting of him at all.

Still my favorite Villain in the story, especially with the power display when he took Ichigo to break through the canopy of Los Noches. "Under Lord Aizen's orders Two Things are forebidden below the canopy of Los Noches. The first is Grand re Cero which exists only for Espada, and the second is the sword release of Espadas with the rank of 4 or higher.....they are both so powerful that if released they would threaten to destroy Los Noches itself.........(ready's sword)........Imprision-murcielago (enter the black rain)". One of the best villains made to impose despair on any protagonist, both the way he talked and was the opposition to Ichigo's motive.

This was so insightful . There's real in-depth analysis in this video. Ironically such sincere insight can only come from the heart . So unless someones heart is in it ( content creation) Nothing original can truly come from it . So this being a video of quality *that adds something true and new to a character* and gives to the rest of the world a new perspective , shows your heart is truly in what you do . I believe this Channel will definitely grow because the content is always top tier , each time , your videos especially the bleach ones , I say its top tier because it always peels away the layers time could not and shows a sincere representation of the core of "this/Any video you have done" character really is . Too see the truth of something in clear perspective . That's what you do . That's what you offer . Thats your content . Once more clearly shown in this video . So yes keep to where your heart is. As Uncle Iroh said to Zuko "Follow your passion and life will reward you" Oh that would be a good one Uncle Iroh from Avatar the last airbender. Thank you for such great content/work , Loved this video . Now I ask... The Primera Espada Coyote Stark. Because my favorite character is Shunsui And when they fought it seemed like if they were not on opposite sides they may have become friends. Because if were they to meet . A person surviving in starks presence , he would have curiosity and Shunsui being perceived to be a laid back Captain yet having high intellect coupled with incredible empathy and having an analytical mind and an understanding heart would perhaps make for a philosophical and insightful interaction . I mean they both like to lay under the sky and chill ... Stark please (It may not be highly requested I understand So at the very least just saying would love to see a video on The Primera Espada Stark ) And lastly Shunsui Kyõuraku. Theres so much to say about him but this reply is already so long Sorry ...so ill leave it there *Kyõraku Shunsui* I always look forward to your videos , great work , been subbed the moment I watched your bleach reputation video and was taken back at how true, precise, articulate and on the mark it was .

If ulquiorra didn't have a mouth before becoming an arrancar and never hungered the way most hollows do does that mean he didn't actually eat souls. I mean I know eating souls is kind of the typical way for hollows to get stronger but presumably they could maybe grow naturally the way soul reapers do. If it's true it could be a good explanation for why he was able to use the second release form.

I appreciate all the time you put into the preparation and the product. It makes me think about people who have Ulquiorra's type of mindset and past how to help them on their path. I watched the anime, and have not read the manga. I think it's interesting how lust and the other deadly sins were represented through that seen, all I saw it more as the opposite: love. He finally got to see love through Orihime, and begin the internal transformation of himself as he faded away. I have to get the manga and do more research! I believe this would be a great case study for social works, counselors, parents, and those alike. It's crazy that he was the only villian in bleach to kill the protagonist twice, it reminds me that there is sacrifice to get deep into someone's pain and try to get them to see the truth. I will be back to do more in depth research on this! Thank you again! Much blessings DBZimran! You are great and I'm grateful for you :).
