I was there also. This was a very good Ulster side who had just begun a recod breaking unbeaten run which included beating Fiji a year later. Pity we didn't see the two Austalian tries scored by Peter Grigg.

I remember being there as a schoolboy, watching that game. The weather was atrocious. My first ever time at Ravenhill. Great result!

@@paddylogan13 My memory of the weather was that it rained but I've watched rugby at Ulster HQ where the conditions were far worse to be honest.

@howardgilpin8818 it was Baltic. I spoke to Brian McCall about the match a few years later and he said he was frozen.

I admit it was cold but I have been to Ulster HQ over 500 times so obviously I have encountered all types of weathers.

Great to see at the final whistle the reaction was to shake the opponents hand immediately. What about the ref though, ball in touch, Ulster penalty?

Yes. I thought at least one of the 2 penalties shown for throwing ball into touch was particularly harsh.
