I really want to like Ulterior Motives but it just sounds off. The fanmade instrumental track sounds higher quality in my opinion. The isolated sample of the woman yelling “Ah!” doesn’t sound the best either.

The other one's an instrumental version, so someone with a voice closer to the original could cover the song. They're obviously too old to belt it and most of the vocal notes are strained in the remaster.

@@Laxi2023it doesn’t matter anymore since it released, but they got it by using inspect element on the distrokid page and downloading it from there (either through links or files in the code themselves). Metadata is kind of misleading because that is what’s attached to a *file*, and in which contains a specific amount of information. This is just code, it can contain almost anything, which must include the audio of these snippets for the website to tease it. Besides, the actual song names were on the page itself so theres no point in looking at the actual audio files for information. You really only need to know this if a website doesn’t have a direct download button on it, like Lalal ai which only offers a built-in download button on the actual visual part of the website after you buy something.

The singer on Ulterior Motives is a man? On the original it really sounds like a woman but here it's just a hight pitched male voice.

its always been a man. in the 80s, when ulterior motvies was recorded, the singer had a much higher pitch voice and a wider vocal range. his voice has obviously deteriorated the past 40 years.
