The right tripod sure makes the difference. I lugged around a crazy heavy one for years until took it bear hunting half way up a mountain. Frig that..... bought a used Sunpak carbon fiber one and shaved off 10 pounds and still have the manifrotto 701 head on it so not exactly light weight yet but sure makes those hikes up the mountain much simpler
