You guys need a second channel, or just a behind the scenes series of how you make all of your food. Like how you grow and tend to all of your vegetables, and make your bread, and what animals you guys have, and seasonings/sauces and everything else. Would be super interesting.

Beautiful, as always. I'd like some red wine with that ... thanks. HOWEVER, I don't believe that the dried herb was basil. Basil leaves are large, and don't dry on-the-stem into tiny little buds. They wilt and turn dark. That had to have been thyme, or other small-leaved herb. I'm sure that either would have been good, though.

Almazan cooking you are probably a meal or two away from a heart attack. How about next time you make a salad or something?
@hby77687 жыл бұрын
Seems like they don't live the city life. If they ate this and sat on their asses in front of the computer like most westerners then maybe we can speculate on their health. Dont assume the same kind of food consumption is unhealthy for people with a very different life style.
@tomtonka19157 жыл бұрын
Well it was a joke but seeing as you seem hellbent on arguing I will bite. You can't live on this stuff he makes, you need other stuff too. Living an active lifestyle you may be thin and appear healthy but it is still bad for your arteries which can become clogged even though you appear to be in good health. But as I said, it was a joke, I'm sure he balances his diet by eating well other days he is not filming.
@hby77687 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Lets assume his lifestyle is different and he doesn't adhere to the western definition of healthy eating. AS i know, some people from other parts of the world do not depend on vegetation for their dietary needs and they live a very long and health life. People living in colder regions will probably eat less vegetables and fruits. Eskimos for instance eat very little vegetable compare to what is recommend by western culture. They have thrive for a relatively long time. I personally need to eat vegetables every meal but that doesn't meant i can't accept the fact that some people can live healthy lives with less than what western indoctrination has taught. Children for the last 40 years has been taught the food groups in the US and these now adults account for a high percentage of obesity. I always reflect what was taught to me through my younger years and in practice very different than what reality is. All his i dishes has some meat in it, so your salad joke or recommendation could be for a different channel. I don't know you well enough to know if your are some health nut or just plain joking from your initial statement. Your "joke" painted a narrative that they are unhealthy individuals so i just wanted to chime in.
@v.98027 жыл бұрын
I know I'm a little late for settling this argument or at least give my point on the matter, but because I live not far from Serbia, on western Bulgarian border (same climate) and I make my own garden every summer in my father's village, I'll try to do it as close to the truth as possible. I can assure you when working on a garden 6 hours a day, 3h. in the morning, 3h. late afternoon, you feel very hungry afterwards and you can eat something like this without a problem, you burn a lot of calories even in hot summer. If you have other physical activities through the day, I can guarantee you that you can probably eat it and still not gain weight. Will you do it then? Probably not, because first you would not have the means to allow yourself such fresh meat every day and also the time to make it. But even if you have it, your own garden will start to produce fresh vegetables and you will start to eat that too, you can't throw it, some you put in jars for the winter, but mostly you eat fresh vegetables for 2 months, meat too of course, just not in the same proportion that this video suggests. But then autumn comes and bit by bit you really don't have so much physical work anymore and if you continue to eat the same amount, you start gaining weight, the biological mechanism of the body facilitates this, because it knows snowy winter is coming, so it stores fat. But then if you are religious Christian orthodox person, you have 40 days Nativity Fast before Christmas, so the fat stored in late September, October and early November will start to disappear. If you aren't religious, at least back in the old days, you didn't really have so much stored meat that time of the year anyway, your stock from through the year also disappeared during spring and summer and early autumn. Then Christmas and New Year, you eat a lot grill meat (normally village families slaughtered pork for Christmas. The start of the New Year, they had the rest of the pork meat stored in jars (before refrigerators), maybe some turkey or chicken also if they killed some for the holidays. Then 40 days before Easter, you start fasting again (but even if you don’t, you again really don’t have so much meat left). Then on Easter and then saint George (mid-April, may) celebrations, families kill lamps for those holidays, you can't kill it earlier, because they are too little in early spring. After this during summer you had chickens, turkey and so on, if you needed meat, but you start to lose weight, because of the physical labor. So that is the meat diet people had on those climate zones before shops existed. So I also don’t think you can have this type of food every day, just because you have 30-35 degrees Celsius (90℉) some days in July and august here and unless you work as a wood cutter whole day in much fresher environment and you burn a lot of calories, you can’t keep up with this meal. For 3-4 months in the winter, if you have physical labor very often, it’s much more possible to do it. And I don’t think that there is something like “western definition of healthy eating”, because we in Bulgaria always produced great vegetables and fruits and we did it probably because it was not only possible, but needed. So maybe in some north parts of Russia, Alaska and so on you can do it, but not on the Balkans.
