I love your enthusiasm for a bible and supplies that are affordable. Not everyone can have a premium bible and this one is very nice!

Great video! In this financial environment it will be a benefit. I also like Mr Pen- especially his tabs.

I think I need to get that Bible, but I would like to have seen a test, marking with those markers in that new Bible, to see if there’s bleed through. Could you show that, please?

sure, here is the yellow and blue gel highlighter with the dark grey pen on Psalms 1, and then the backside of the page both flat and with the light showing through it drive.google.com/drive/folders/1sODtGm37JaArAHw0L4eARHQCV_EeNGWE?usp=drive_link

Whether it is a $400 or $20 bible, paragraph form or verse-by-verse, no matter the design or packaging, references or not...a bible is a bible and what matters most is what is written inside given to us by God Himself. Appreciate your video!

Exactly right! I had never even heard of these insanely priced Bibles until I found Bible review channels.

@@Yesica1993 I read your comment below and agree with a good majority of it. Sometimes watching those Bible review channels I get the sense that you NEED to get a premium Bible. There are a lot of things I don’t agree with when watching those channels but to each their own. I have a pile of bibles but they are all mostly different translations and affordable. I enjoy reading different translations and seeing how things get translated. I also keep some on hand to give away should someone need a Bible and can’t afford one.

@@jose_luna That's fine if they are being used and/or shared. I mean having shelves of Bibles (esp. expensive ones) that really just sit there. And constantly getting more, that will also just sit there. I don't see the point of that.

It's amazing that they can have a 12 point in a thinline! I don't need print that big. (Yet.) But it would be nice to see an ESV thinline with a bigger font. I've seen 10 point but the formatting is strange and looks blurry. I don't know if it's show through or the lines are too close together or what. The one you are showing looks thin but still readable. If NKJV was my version, I'd be looking into it. I had never even heard of "premium Bibles" until I (somehow) came across Bible review channels. I had no idea people pay hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for a Bible. Once I got used to that idea, I assumed it would be a one time thing. A family heirloom to pass down to kids/grandkids. A repair/rebind of a precious Bible from your parents/grandparents. Or someone buying a high end Bible as the only one they will ever use. I can see investments like that. But then I learned people "collect" these things. For what? There's no way you can regularly read ALL of those Bibles. So what's the point? Just to have them collecting dust on a shelf? It's mind boggling. Normal people cannot afford to spend hundreds of $ on one Bible, much less multiple. I still have my NIV Study I got way back in 1988. It's that cheaper leather, nothing "premium". The main reason I'm not still using it is that I began going to a new church 10-12 years ago and they used the ESV. It was not required. It was entirely my choice. Through watching review channels, I've even fallen into the trap of having several (non-premium) Bibles. It's nothing more than covetousness. I've donated several. I now have my ancient ESV Compact (which I may donate because my eyes are now struggling with the 8 point font), the ESV Chronological (which I am working my way through and will donate when completed), and my ESV Heritage (which I love, but is a bit bulky to carry around to church on the train.) Again, there is no reason to have a pile of Bibles you don't even use. Don't even get me started on the stationery stuff. There are entire channels showing off piles of pens and highlighters and notebooks. I wonder how much of that is even used. While you do need to be careful what pens/highlighters you use in your Bible, as you demonstrated, it doesn't have to cost a lot. There are great materials these days that are affordable. If you're really in a bind, you can get a cheap notebook/pens at a dollar store. If you don't want to mess up your Bible with a cheaper pen that will smear or bleed through, you can just use sticky notes instead of writing directly into the Bible. As you have demonstrated, none of this needs to be so expensive.

The only thing I spend a little extra money on is journal because I want them to last. I use a company called LeatherPress that makes great high quality leather journals for around $40.... I used to used Murdy Creative, who has incredible products, but just way more expensive than what I needed

I'm curious, what's the appeal of the NKJV over the KJV for you? Is there that much significant difference between the two?
