The reason the compound hits harder at a lower poundage than the ballista is because of quite a few reasons but mostly it has to do with the cams and higher quality limb material, which allows for a more efficient transfer of energy to the arrow when fully drawn. Because of the immense tension on the bow at all times however, as a result of the cam system (you actually have to load the string using a mechanical bow press, unlike re-curve bow which can be done by hand most of the time) it operates almost the opposite to a re-curve in the fact that it goes from high tension to low tension, where as a re-curve goes progressively from (relatively) low to high as it is pulled, in practice this makes it much harder to fire more rapidly using a half draw compared to a re-curve, but much more powerful at full draw. The compound bow cams also have the benefit of holding about 66% (2/3) of the tension for you when the cams engage at full draw meaning instead of holding the full 60lbs or so of the draw weight it only feels like 20lbs, which allows you to actually take time to aim.

Addition: When you have 8str + basic archery my compound bow on SP has 120# and you can easily pull and hold any bow ingame. This was a good video, great info 👍

Tip for next guide (whatever you gonna test relating to damage) compare the HP damage in real numbers, not in percent (as they vary). If you hover over your hp or over the injury you can see how much hitpoints in numbers

Just out of curiosity, when you killed your mate with a neck shot, you cant use the PT, but it says "Treat Patient". What does that do? Doesnt that revive him?

Only the strength influences the maximum compound bow draw weight. Not the archery skill. From a strength of 6.1 you can set the compound bow to a maximum draw weight of 120 pounds. The archery skill mainly determines your accuracy. The arrow type also affects the accuracy (spread). Please make a video in which you shoot 10 arrows of all arrow types at a target at 100 m (only with the Balista bow). You will see that wooden arrows scatter much more than carbon arrows. Then do the same test with a compound bow again with a high archery skill and then with no archery skill at all. The compound bow is clearly more stable when aiming with a high archery skill.

Can someone please provide a summary of the video very hard to follow with a lot of excess dialogue in between. A more concise summary at the end would have been appreciated. Something like “bullet points” of what all the testing determined. Hard to go back and rewatch almost 1hr long videos to get the info in between the banter etc

Also, please learn timestamps, structure, planning, and do your fokking homework before the video, we do not want to see you embarrasing discovering of basic game facts while on air. For example- for a experienced player- how the hell you did not know, or how the hell you forgot, if thats the case, that crossbow explo arrows have timer, but bow arrows do not (telling your partner to try to counter after the hit, when there is no counter?) HP percent is base on character, you should look at hp point in metabolism screen, all of these test are wrong.

Our constitution was on 3 which = 100 HP which = 100 % which equals accurate. You understand now ;]
