I’m a bowler when you said Brooklyn I was like aye he knows what he’s talking about. The heavier the ball doesn’t change anything. It’s how many revelations it has. House balls won’t hook. You have to have a certain ball with a core for it to hook. You did amazing tho!

johnny, you must be curving your palm at the last moment some of those times without even realizing it, with a little more practice your throwing hand will grow used to the right angle of which to throw, since the ball was going to the right and into the gutter, you gotta angle your palm more to the left

I've bowled 2 300 games. I'm thinking of making a bowling channel because of it. You might think how is that possible. The main advice I can give to Donnie is use your middle and ring finger. Another thing is. While throwing a straight ball (like you are) you want to come in at an angle. You want to find a mark you are comfortable and want to try to get as close to that mark as many times as possible. After bowling a lot you can tell where your mark is on that certain lane after 2-3 shots. Bowling is a game on precision and if you really want to become a great bowler you should 1. Go more often. 2. Do research about bowling (not required but it could never hurt). Possibly trying to eventually spin the ball. The easiest way to do that is to take your thumb out. It causes you to create revolutions on the ball which causes it to curve in the oil. 3. Learn about the oil on the lane. Once you can tell what the oil pattern is then you can predict everything a lot better. Personally as someone who bowls about 240 as my average I can say bowling is one of the Hardest sports out there because of all the fine tuning and a 1,000 things can go wrong at a time.

How to hook a ball is to thumb out first and fingers out second. Or take a football and throw a under hand spiral to see it spinning.
@averagejoe1956 жыл бұрын
Donnie, slow down on your approach go further back on your back swing and on your release. Keep your wrist behind the ball. The tip I give all my friends is to imagine you are shaking hands with the reflection of the pins. Hope that helps

@colinmyers12845 жыл бұрын
General things I watch out for are keeping my shoulders straight, landing on the opposite foot of your throwing hand, looking at the arrows and not the pins, bringing the ball straight back and fourth without bringing the ball behind your back, and then just maintaining eye contact with the arrows on the lane before you look up at the pins. To generate spin, you’ll wanna release the ball with your hand underneath the ball rather than on top. When you release the ball with your hand underneath it, make sure to touch your right (or left depending on your throwing hand) ear to practice rotating the ball. Hope this helps!!

Matt at 14:13 when shooting something like the 5,7 or the 5,10 you want to hit the right side of the 5 pin when you have the 5,7 standing and the opposite for the 5,10. Now when you can go in between is when you have either the 2,7 or the 3,10 baby split

Matt, the way I wish I bowled, Donny, the way I actually bowl
@WarhavenSC6 жыл бұрын
@Donnie - The common mistake for newbies is trying to bowl around your hips. You need to kick your right leg out behind you and to the left, like Matt was doing, to get your hips out of the way. Otherwise, your arm will swing wide and send it anywhere but where you want it. 6:45 - You started bowling a lot better right here. See how you kicked your right leg behind your left on the 2nd bowl? That's more like it. Also, if you find that you're still going into the right gutter, you can move yourself closer to the right gutter. Seems counter-intuitive, but you'll subconsciously throw the ball left to avoid the gutter.
@Dcf93186 жыл бұрын
Donnie throws the ball to the right mainly because his body get to the foul line before his arm therefore causing his arm to downswing too late in his approach. If you watch when he has a shorter arm backswing he is more accurate because of his timing

DONNIE's BOWLING: He's bowling with his pointer and middle finger instead of his middle and ring finger. The other thing is that he is kind of letting his arm go away from him instead of strait. Also, he's releasing early.

@qijiy6 жыл бұрын
Bring your hand over the ball for more spin and pin action, it also helps your curve (which is called hook) Also you should bowl a bit more inward to get your by to the sweet spot (which is the side of the head pin, not the middle, shocking I know) You could look some things up on KZbin to increase your score, spin, pin action, and release. And I suggest you look at professional bowling on KZbin and look at the curve (hook) that they get.

He should try leaning forward a little and straight up. Go Donnie Go Donnie Go Donnie! You need to go bowling again.
