@@johnhenningfield4360 I think he put the question marks because he doesn't know what part of the record was sampled in songs. It was the very beginning by Sugar Hill Gang - 8th Wonder (1981) 0:03 is the timestamp. RIP Jerry Weaver for such a great record.

Seems like MGMT sampled the first song on Little Dark Age.

Good stuff. But what happened to the sound? It seems that there are only the mids and highs - the A-side is way closer to the original sound... A little weird...

It’s for sampling the drums as breaks they lowering out the bass

@@Dj_Rancho6448 OK. What's the goal? I know, maybe avoid "muddiness"... But it's changing the sound when the value on breaks and beats is to keep as close as possible to the original sound...

@@marceloribeirosimoes8959 idk, I just know this much: if you wanted to mix the drums from one song with the rest of the instruments from another you would lower the low end on the drums so the bass on the other track doesn’t get fucked up or muddied. I’m assuming that was the purpose of these vinyl, to be used as breakbeats for mixing so they took out the low end. Huge guesses though
