the biggest difference between the two is the fact that vss skills towards sniper skill and the val goes towards assault rifles, so if you care about leveling your assault rifle skill as it applies to a more variety of weapons, you should rock that instead of the vss. But yeah, vss is amazing

some people use the m1a as a budget gun for labs but I honestly prefer this. The ammo is a fraction of the price, its full auto, and like you said it already comes supressed.

They wont really go that high, because lots of players are able to trade 2 air filters for vss from prapor, with air filters costing around 17k each.

They spiked for a couple days but they're back down around 40k. Also, most players will hit level 2 with prapor and then you can just trade for them for pretty cheap.

This is why I said the VSS was my favorite budget gun on your budget guide from a few days ago :p. So good, so reliable! Oh and don’t forget: you can trade Prapor for the VSS, only costs two air filters, which is ~40k total. At max level prapor, you can trade prapor 3 pliers for a 30 rounder too (~21k)

Super Helpful. I've been running this using those general principles of "whatever optic i find now goes on my VSS" and am hitting a lot more kills. These bullets hurt WAYYYYY MORE your average 5.45 (humble opinion)

The most important thing right off the bat. More things you can do and definitely more fun. I know you like sniping Jesse, but golly jeepers a mosin run might as well mean I should take a nap. Budget guns to me means I get a weapon I LIKE TO USE, AK, Vityaz, Vss, and 5.56 MDR and buying early trader unlocked attachments (Holo, RK-O foregrip, cheap handguards, etc.) and going to have FUN! It is a budget run, I don’t want to worry about losing the gear. This might turn up my confidence too, and if I outplay a guy with better gear, then I just got a come up from what I had. Budget guns also open up the opportunity to have better ammo in your mags because you don’t blow it on -2 more vertical recoil... etc.etc.etc.etc. Fucking love this dude! Great video

you can craft 200 SP-6 rounds in workbench level 2! that will help a lot too. Another good budget weapon is the DT DMR. just throw a sight (and a compensator if you want), fill it with m885A1 and you're good to go

Good vid :D saw it before 10 pmc kills for punisher pt4 I'm lv 32 18%sr but avoided pvp for the most part, but with the vss, zsh and avs i felt pretty confident and it worked out pretty well, completed my last 8 kills in 2 pretty quick raids.

My only complaint with VSS/Val is the ammo consumption like you said. It's major strength is also it's greatest weakness. Ran on factory recently and I don't think I'll do that again. Especially when there are 60 round plus solutions with other weapons. It's beast though and definitely good bang for buck... Rouble

VSS with sp5 and the p90 with subsonic ammo are the best self defense weapon on loot runs, cost/performance wise. The VSS is cheaper and includes supressor, the p90 is better when you fight multiple targets and is very accurate for an smg if you use the long barrel which is actually cheaper if you sell the original.

I would say that the price of the VSS is quite low due to the fact that you can get it from Traders deal every reset (3h or so) for less than 40k.. as low as 25-30k if you snipe the required items on flea.

I just tryed it out and I 100% agree with you.. However if someone is looking for even cheaper i'd advise a hunter with a cheap scope and m80.. its around 70k ish with everything and it melts big guys as well. Maybe you can do a video on this too as it is really noob friendly since you dont need the headshot (m80 OP) on a hunter cause u can spam shoot

I started to play vss/val around week ago, at the start was using sp-5 ammo but now i must say its worth it to pay more and get sp-6... i won so much fights vs other vss users that had sp-5 ammo while i had sp-6... only yesterday i earned 6kk roubles just killing players on reserve. sick gun. my budget loadout: ssh-68 + 6b3tm-01m + rest items whatever, but i buy sp-6 ammo, it saves my ass more than better helmet or armor

To be fair you can also trade some air filters RQ for one as well at lvl 2 Prapor so if get lucky with your scavs you can basically get a replacement pretty fast

As long as you have workbench level 2, it makes no sense to use sp5. You can craft the eagle gunpowder for around 35k. Crafting 200 sp6 costs around 60k total which works out to be just around 300 rubles per round. Sp6 is also significantly better as it is able to pen class 5 quite reliably.

The Eagle craft is actually 25k, Xeno: 11.5k & 7.62 HPx60: 3.7k. So about 40k total working out at 200 per round. I have enough SP-6 in my ammo cases to last a lifetime.

Really awesome guide , very detailed and made me consider the weapon a lot more. It has to be said though, that it takes a while to get used to the low velocity that these rounds have. Even at close range where miliseconds can mean life or death. For me its the biggest downside to both vss and val.

my go to budget is m1a1 with 2 50 round mags of m80, one in secure container. Red dot if you need it, can 1 run mag and bring ammmo as well. Gun straight slaps bois

If you want super fast ADS you can use the B-3 mount with a MPR45 and a PK-06 as a canted sight

I had a vss as a scav on reserve, I was near the bunkers close to heating pipe and I heard a player lying down in the grass, he stood up and turned to me and he was fully geared. He had lvl 5 body armour and a lvl 5 helmet with a fully geared m4 and a fully modded m1a, both had thermals too. He got one good hit on me but I just sprayed like half a magazine of my vss into him and insta killed him, I came out of that raid with around 2 million since the guy I killed had a huge ass backpack and he was mid looting a guy and that’s why he was on the floor so I took the other guys shit too.

You can get 5/day 30-round mags for 3 pliers/mag I suggest you have a 30-rounder loaded and take 20-round mags for reloading, price goes up to 24-25k with the trade so you save 3-4 k from there too.

Been playing for three wipes. My survival rate is 52% 6.22 k/d. This game is all about highs and lows. I run budget 300k~ builds for loadouts, and never skimp on ammo. This weapon is one of my go toos for cqc.

Actually get barter trade AK-74M (Zenitco one) - 35k, slap RK-0 grip - 10k, PWS CQB comp - almost 20k I think, can't remember and Pk-06 sight. High ergo, low recoil ak for 80k tops.

The VSS and it’s big brother the AS VAL, are the only 2 weapons I run to Labs, SP5 is great budget ammo however specifically in high heat close combat maps such as Labs and Factory... SP5 just doesn’t cut it in my opinion, SP6 JUST makes the grade, but even still I go for SPP rounds, far more expensive, but 100% worth it

Personally i'd go with SP-6, mainly because you can craft it pretty cheap. An honestly 20 rounds can get you killed quite abit, you aren't going to hit every shot. Good video though, this weapon is really for the price.

I know the as val is considered an assault rifle and the vss is a sniper so the recoil skills change how they act but is that the only difference?
