Nice build. Whoever changes the bed sheets on this is going to need something special their way also.

Haha yeah that is definitely a challenge

Dude, Jared, long time man! I saw the thumbnail to your video and was like "that looks like Jared G". Pleasant surprise. Glad to see you are having fun with woodworking and building a good following on YT.

Good Dad of the Year award!! Really is an amazing design for your kiddos! My only tip would be put something non-slip on the step/ladder treads. Little energy ball kiddos in sock feet are dangerous enough 😅
@EveningWoodworker Жыл бұрын
Good point, although one or two slips has taught them a lot about their personal center of gravity!

That is a steep angle on the slide -- looks like fun!
@EveningWoodworker Жыл бұрын
Yeah it was a balance between having a slide sticking into the middle of the room and not making it too steep. Now it's just fast!

Bro you have 5 kids? Wow. I have 4 and it’s a lot. The project turned out great. Great inspiration. Can’t wait to see your next build.
@EveningWoodworker Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes both 4 and 5 are a lot, which is why projects like this always take me a long time!

@@EveningWoodworker totally understandable. I’m pretty lucky cause my two oldest are 15 and 13 so they help with my 6 & 8. The wife and I are able to catch a date night more often which is nice.

That is great. My sister and I also had a bunk bed set that our dad made. It was an interesting design, but it was nowhere that cool.

Great job❤ What is the thickness of the wood that you use as slide. I want to do similar for my child
@EveningWoodworkerАй бұрын
I used 3/4" Baltic birch, but I think 1/2" would work too.
@xo.cassadi29 күн бұрын
How much would you say it was in total to build this? This is incredible!!!
@EveningWoodworker23 күн бұрын
Thanks! The materials cost probably around $200
@pauloaires8008 Жыл бұрын
Very cool build, my kids would love a bed like that. My only “bad comment” would be could you make the video longer you did quiet a lot to the beds but not really shown how in the video, great idea
@EveningWoodworker Жыл бұрын
Yeah i didn't film a lot of the build of the top section because I was trying to just get it done. Thanks for the feedback!

Awesome job. Will you be offering plans for this Bunkbed build?
@EveningWoodworker Жыл бұрын
I have a rough 3D model that i used for proof of concept, but I will make plans if there is enough interest. Are you interested?
@mystic9696 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I have two young boys this would be a great idea for

Nice. What wood is this?
@EveningWoodworker Жыл бұрын
This was all made from construction lumber so probably some mix of pine and Douglas fir.
@adam57698 ай бұрын
Where can I get the plans for this? I don't see it on your site.
@EveningWoodworker8 ай бұрын
For this one I haven't made plans yet, but that's next on my list!

Oh man. That slide landing felt ruff. My tail bone hurt just from watching the kids landing. Maybe a soft landing pad or extend the bottom of the slide one more section. I guess the kid in blue shorts that did not land on his feet. That did not feel comfortable.
@EveningWoodworker Жыл бұрын
Haha yeah they usually put a pillow at the bottom now!
