Is that trait common in autism? Asking for a friend
@nordikkai7185
@nordikkai7185 2 ай бұрын
@@Jonathan-ek7ky yes and no. Certain people with autism can learn "appropriate" or "acceptable" social behaviour through media, and can replicate certain aspects of characters in order to fit in better in social situations. But this is done as a masking technique and it's comparable to acting, they don't actually absorb and internalise those behaviours to the degree that it's just part of who they actually are now.

It's common in autistic people not being able to externally express certain emotions, I myself struggle to express affection without coming off as creepy 😂 we do learn from observing how other people do it, so we imitate. In Chris' case, he imitates the expressions of anger from cartoons and anime, where it's rather exaggerated, not knowing that people in real life don't growl or pose with a claw-hand in the air.

Corpse enthusiast here, no it's not. Corpses decaying is oddly beautiful, in a weird metaphysical way. I've seen many dead bodies in varying states of decay. Chris is not even as graceful or pleasant as a corpse rotting, no matter how horrendous. Chris is like watching gangrene spread on a still living person, or like the spread of radiation sickness. It's a slow rot, falling apart as you lie there feeling every cell die as the inevitable march to mutilation continues. That is Chris. Watching the gangrene of Barb and Bob's misadventures in the bedroom slowly rot while still writhing in pain, and knowing that none of us could have ever hoped to stop the process. I have had some truly hard phonecalls, and dealt with a lot of things in my life, and I can safely say that even with another 40 years of experience, a world-renowned physician wouldn't be able to help Chris, so what hope did any of us have?
