love the guide, actually neat that I've sort of been using this with some success already. only differences for me is I tend to wait until I can get 3 scholars before pulling off gold, and I use the 4th vil on the landmark to build the house toward the end of the building as I'd rather have the resources. These are probably not super optimal but I guess my mindset was that I can garrison two buildings and still have one scholar to get the ball rolling for sacred sites. the line archer thing will be key to better fights

Due to very slow upgrade and research time Delhi very rarely can reach the full potential at the imperial age. Unless you got tons of scholar doing researches and then heal all of your range and melee units.

i mean if you go for dome of the faith build, you can have 20-25 scholars easy and cheap, then you can really go imp and get everything

If you want to be competitive in terms of times, you need 2 mosques filled with scholars in castle and 4 mosques or 20 scholars in imperial. This makes it so that your research takes twice as long as your opponent, but because you can research everything at the same time, you’re still good. Also 20 scholars are relatively cheap compared to the upgrade costs in imperial. Just don’t forget to make them.

@@TomBrosch just build a university in imp it has 20 slots and comes with 3 scholars ... and if we're being honest unless you go for dome of the faith chances are you will not have 20 + scholars

This doesn't work for me all my opponent does is turtle fast castle seige spam ill be up 30 to 40 units but he just uses mangonels surrounds them and wins the game

I guess it depends on the resource situation... if you feel like they are low on gold it couldn't hurt to make MAA and couple of springalds since it costs gold to counter them, unless it's France or Rus and they already have knights I guess

Basically the build he’s doing. As you get enough gold for the 2nd scholar you pause your mosque research, makes the 2nd scholar, then resume the research once it’s created.

I'm not sure what you're using the gold on in feudal from the sacred sites. So it's solely used for Monks/possible age up? I mean the techs are still free. Do you just always pump monks OR save for age up? or what esle would the gold be for

Gold can be used for producing lancers and crossbows at Age III as well, if the game reach this point.

I think if villagers are holding a resource and they build a drop-off building (mill, lumber camp, mining camp), they drop off the resource they are currently holding

just make archers ... the only real counter to elepahnts is spears (maybe horsemen in very big numbers) so if you want to use elephants just add in archers and MAAs to deal with spears

@@cobrasen ye cause outside of spears and horsemen(for archer and hand cannon elephant) nothing can trade into them (cost effectively)

@@cobrasen remember all elephants are crazy strong but they're slow (dont think about them like they're knights but that they're siege with a focus vs units instead of buildings) also remember while the melee elephant is only bad vs spears (cost effectively) the range elephants (both the archer and handcannon) versions take bonus dmg + from things like horsemen and javelin throwers (because they're still a type of "archer" so they get hit by anti archer dmg) but as long as you find a way to deal with the spears (archers or maas) on paper nothing should be able to stop the big boys, melee elephants 1 shot knights and range elephants can fight while on the move (and have crazy range armor)

Every Delhi game is about sacred sites. Why not making a tower on each and fortify them?

i do. wall them up with archers and a couple spears with room for a tower or two. when able. send a couple vils to build towers. later in castle wall up with infantry.

It feels like this build is for gold level or lower. In platinum & higher so many civs can keep up with your production with ease it seems. All while raiding delhi is easy because you have to go all over the map for food

@@nobodyx215 Yes but I felt he out ecoed me so I had to make units to stop the trade and the second tc. Therefore my trade boom was delayed. When I had enough units to attack he had more units. Probably too few production buildings since I was floating resources.
