I was LIVING for the Canada bashing. Besides poutine (and beaver tails which are a pastry in the shape of the tail), any good food you'll find is non-Canadian. Like pho, shawarma, biryani, etc. Anyways, great episode! I just started listening to the podcast recently and it's fun, like listening in on my friend's conversations during a dinner party lol

I very much agree. But i feel like there’s really not much into Canadian cuisine to be honest, and asian cuisine has always been so rich and diversed

44:29 what Heejun should really do is get Peniel to eat out with him more, get Peniel to explore more of food! :) But also yes I aspire to be as excited about food as Heejun is, the way he has a favorite for every type of weather just like fashionistas having the perfect ootd for every day of the week :))

LOL cracking up at the no food in Toronto and Montreal segment because I do understand Hee Jung's opinions on this especially if you don't have friends here taking you around. If you're just coming here without a guide honestly you're going to be eating trash food. Toronto and other parts of the GTA have probably some of the best restaurants but you need people who live here to actually take you around.

We have so many restaurants in Montreal and Toronto too!! Whatttttt!! Heejun you did not explore!! ( By restorants they aren't Canadian it's other cultures foods haha ) but that's the great thing you can eat food from anywhere! Montreal is know for smoke meat and bagels and poutine lol. But yeah next time try out the restos! They're good!

Dungeness crab is a pacific crab. It pronounced as dun-gen-ness. Found all along the west coast up to alaska. Like marylanders crab for blue crab, we go for dungys. Best edible seabug out there. Also the lobster for prisoners but also poor people is true but like during the 1800s in area like new york and stuff. The reason why is yes they look like bugs, but also oysters were wildly popular back then. Lobsters happen to be a bycatch of that, esentially trash.

From the Bay Area, and the traders Joe in my area has been sold out of Kimbap every since it release last year. Finally got my hands on them last month and it’s actually pretty good. It’s something we can’t really get on the go unless we go to a Korean restaurant. Which there aren’t many in my area unless I need to travel 1 hr for a good decent place. Trader Joe’s has a rule of only buying 1 roll per family, which sucks cus it literally be devoured in a minute.

it’s true that instant ramen machine stores outside Korea are relatively expensive. here in the Philippines, they charge an equivalent of 4-5 dollars for one bowl, without the additional sides like vegetables, meat & egg. not to mention they’re jampacked with customers all the time, it can be hard do eat in peace 😅

Lol, FYI, Toronto have Koreatown, where there's plenty of Krestaurant that caters with all kinds of hip people who are either trying the food or love Kfood. Next time you visit Toronto, look for Koreatown and you will be surprised the authentic food you'll find, and you will feel coming back for more. And around the city and neighbouring town spread out good Krestaurants that are becoming so popular, thanks for Kdrama and Kpop 😍😊Love watching your entertaining program from Toronto.
