Living in a van has opened up so many opportunities for Patchwork Canteen.. From outdoor expeditions to long highway cruises, our van Yumi has kept us rolling along for almost a year now. While life on the road has presented many challenges, we've laughed, cried, and loved every moment of vanlife and the people we meet. Hey it looks great! An idea for your sliding door issue is silicone grease, it's really the best recommendation for any bearing/Oring/sealant/rust proctenctant. I feel it may ease the door issue at the very least:)

Having a kayak is totally awesome! It just adds one more option for getting outdoors. Plus, it's usually free to float! We are in TN right now, but making our way towards Florida like you guys! Maybe we will meet when we make it to teal color water!

We sleep with our heads toward the back! I don't think the hiace is wide enough to sleep the other way. Haha

Love the setup! I'm thinking about getting a similar Hiace van and building it out. How did you deal with engine issues? Sounds like you know about what you're doing. Did you have to learn it all, and/or were you able to find mechanics who knew what to do with this somewhat rare car (in the US)?

We had to learn it all. Parts are hard to find. The 4x4 is amazing 👏😍
