Cao Cao is an obvious S tier .. He's either the main hero or main villain.. Movesets are usually good

I would’ve put Zhen Ji in S. To me, she’s one of the most iconic Wei characters and her flute moveset was my favorite in DW5: Empires. She can crowd control so well. The whip fits the personality they give her, but her flute is so fun and nonsensical. Also, it’s worth noting that she’s one of the only wives that made it into the game before her husband did. She’s also the historians’ favorite; I don’t know how much I trust the accounts about her life, but if they’re true, she was a really upstanding and adept woman. It makes me wish we could see more of the academic side of Zhen Ji in the games.

Well since I made my tier list in the comments for Shu, here is mine for Wei. And obviously it goes without saying that I love the video and think this idea is super fun and I'm really enjoying watching what all you content creators think :). Cheers! Wei: S: Xiahou Dun, Cao Pi, Zhang Liao, Jia Xu, Cao Cao A: Li Dian, Yue Jin, Xiahou Yuan, Xun Yu, Wang Yi B: Guo Jia, Man Chong, Zhang He, Zhen Ji, Dian Wei, Yu Jin C: Xu Huang, Pang De, Cao Ren, Cao Xiu D: Xu Zhu, Xun You F: Cai Wenji Part of me wanted to put Zhang He higher but I don't like his newer versions as much. I remember in DW3 and DW4 he was easily S tier for me, he almost had this arrogant, sly, menacing aspect to his persona that seems to have been lost over time in favor of amplifying the comedic relief of his obsession over beauty, which is a shame and why he is only B tier. As for Xu Huang, Cao Ren, and Pang De I really love all 3 of them based on their weapons and role in the novel/history, but they all fall too much into the general stoic warrior type. I think they each need more attention/spotlight in the story and to further develop or differentiate their character some more and they could move up.

Cai Wenji made sense for strikeforce it’s a bit out there and mythical But soon as she comes into the main game, downgraded weapon wise, she just disappeared much like the 8XL stage about finding her Then the whip just absolutely isn’t her at all. The erhu is her definitive weapon and she really should get back onto it

Well, this was very pleasant to watch. It's cool that you got all these creators to team up. I enjoyed the vid and look forward to seeing other parts! Some sweet, sweet justice for Xu Huang! I did not expect to hear so much praise for my favorite character, this felt great! Also, watching this video made me realize how much of a flop Man Chong turned out to be as a character. And I think I would have placed Cao Pi much much lower and Cao Xiu - significantly higher, but that's just my take.

Zhen Ji, Zhang He, Xu Huang, Cao Pi, Cao Cao and Jia Xu are the standouts out of the Wei officers for me. I respect Zhang Liao, Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan for the movesets and story involvement. Xun Yu was so fun in 8E but he got boring, especially when they just add all those Wei strategists in 9.

37:20-37:30. That might be one of my biggest issues with Wei's story. People like Yu Jin did a WHOLE LOT more in history then what the games show, and it would really be easy to show at least some of this. It is especially annoying for Yu Jin and Cao Xiu, with them being known almost all for their defect at the end of their time in the army, when for just two cases of what else they did, Yu Jin held off a attack by forces of Yuan Shao's army who attacked him while Cao Cao's main force was putting down Liu Bei's revolt in Xu, while Yu Jin was fairly outnumbered, while Cao Xiu led a preemptive attack and utterly demolished a Wu force in 226 when Sun Quan was building a force to attack them on hearing of Cao Pi's death.

oh definitely but the way the games show them is like nothing really happens for them until their downfall battles, I guess cao xiu they explored a little more in dw9 but yu jin just shows up for fan castle, it is bad

Man some of the reasons for making people B or C tier was mindboggling. One guy said he didn't know a character and their move set was ok or they didn't know it. Then proceed to say for two different characters one was a C or D tier and the other on was a B tier. With the same criteria.

Unlike most people who love Zhang Liao for his feats in Wei. I absolutely love him for his friendship and loyalty to Lu Bu. If Lu Bu never was executed, I think Zhang Liao would have never left his side. The hypothetical route in DW8 for Lu Bu we got to see a lot of that and especially in just any DW game, their relationship may be one of my favs. Lu Bu would never betray Zhang Liao and I think Zhang Liao really took that to heart seeing as how Lu Bu betrays everyone and so Zhang Liao could never betray Lu Bu.

I mean it’s an “Eh” kinda thing for the overall Wei Tier opinions. I can’t believe the newcomers for 9 aren’t looked at properly. For me, I always give them a chance, they’re criminally underrated. Cao Xiu for sure deserved a lot better under my wing. I do like his weapon tbh, I’m aware that some may not like his splay blade, but I’ve mastered it in 9 Empires. (At least it’s 100x better than Zhong Hui’s splay blade - I’m biased pfft) Zhang Liao definitely is S Tier for sure, I’ve always liked him. However, it’s his weapon that I’m trying to get used to, but I’m finding difficulty in mastering him. Cao Cao I’d also put at S Tier cuz after all, he is the man of ambition. I like his moveset too. There’s a lot to cover, but I feel like I should end mine here. I usually don’t do tier lists, but this is alright I suppose.

He got close! Max points a character can get is 80, 10 per S, 8 per A, 7 per B 71 is needed for S - Cao Cao had 70! (5 S = 50 + 2 A = 16 + 2 B = 14 ---> 50 +16 +14 = 70) Just missed it! Definitely a good character though 😁

Dian Wei was by far my favorite character. The way they did him dirty with the ball and chain in 6 really put a bad taste in my mouth. I just can't see a reason for doing it. He already had a relatively unique move set with his hand axe. The axe throw was by far my favorite way to dispatch hoards of peons. The way that he dies so early defending Cao Cao was disappointing, but it was a valiant effort without his trusty axe.
