I've got one of those batteries someone recycled to take apart and see if any of the cells are good. Over in Europe all of the batteries have to be interchangeable by law. One battery platform for each voltage.

Not true. It might be the case in the future, but now every brand has their own batteries. Bosch has battery sharing so their batteries can be used in other platforms, but then Bosch professional batteries dont fit Bosch green tools haha

Thanks man! I knew this would make sense to some in the community. Many low voltage electricians finish their jobs by running a Dyson through the offices they work picking up clippings.

Wow! Is there one for Rigid with circuit overdischarge protection? Also, can you charge it from the charging point on the Dyson by using the Dyson charger?

I haven't invested much in the RIGID battery platform but I bet if you get the Milwaukee and a bit of modification it may work.

I don't think there is. You would have to store it differently or make a different hanging system out of wood.

It depends on which you use and condition of battery my 5ah last the cleaning of my living room and kitchen say about 30 to an hour depending on how the cleaning goes.

@silviuflorescu6838 The question was do I "FEEL" the 3v drop. Not, if there was one or, if there was less suction. Well, do I feel a loss of power or any other issue for my cleaning application? Answer is "NEGATIVE" I don't think a suction test is needed to measure my guesstimate feel ratio for me to answer. It hasn't been an issue for me or my wife. She also has not mentioned any less suction. Guess I can't comment on my own video regarding my "FEEL" for something. Did you ever stop to think that everyone's cleaning needs, application, and feel for something are different?

@@edtheoldtechguy , you are right. If it's about the "feel", you can say anything you want, we can't verify if it's true or not. If you would be more professional, you would make a suction test and see there is at least a 10% lost.

Watched the video and purchased the adapter from Amazon link provided for Dyson V8 Absolute to Makita 18V. Installed the adapter and all the vacuum does is pulse. Dissapointing!

Steven, thanks for your comment. That's horrible news. I have had no issue at all with my unit and tested it with multiple batteries. I believe there is a battery amperage limit. Please warranty it and try another. Could you tell us what battery you used exactly?

@@edtheoldtechguy Ed, I first installed a Makita 5.0Ah battery. Only pulses on high suction mode. It does work on low suction mode. I then tried a Makita 2.0Ah battery and the same thing happens. I'm fine just using it on low suction mode.

Then, the dyson brain cuts the power because it thinks his battery it's discharged. Your tool's battery has 18v nominal (20v at max), but dyson's is 21,6v. I don't know what is the dyson's cut off voltage ,but when your tool's batt is 17v (even has enough juice left), dyson might think his original batt is discharged, so it cuts the power.

It works for about a second than shuts on and off. Wont work with the long end/carpet attachement. 18v 5amp batterie still wont work properly

@@UncleIvan1 Probably wouldn't hurt to contact the company making for the one @edtheoldtechguy has. They might consider making one if they have others asking too. If there's enough requests for a product, some manufacturers will start making the device. Some of these adapters and mounting brackets you can get are 3D printed. It's a lot easier and cheaper to 3D print a few of something than to have dies made for injection molding.

did this to my V8 and I can't have it on high speed, runs for 1 second then stops, runs on low fine but the power LED will show red after a minute or to but still runs

No? Why not bro? I know many an electrician that will use a Dyson for final clean up. Theres also no shame in fixing something for the wife and giving it more POWER! AUH! AUH! AUH! Plus when my wife was sick and I was helping clean I hated how that battery died. Hey did you know that every battery platform has or is coming out with an upright vacuum seems kind of silly not to upgrade what I have and save money.
