Market Update 3/13/2022- Average return of t3 map is now dropping down. So T3 map once again most risky. Market Update 3/10/2022- With Argos update, price of t3 honing protection increased once again, so T3 maps on average is now more profitable again, just following up to let people know. Market Update 3/6/2022- The price of the tradeable t3 Mats have fallen a lot in the past few days and the price of the Excavation mats have risen. Now it's less profitable to make T3 maps in Stronghold. The main benefit of making maps is now the chance of getting the Rarer Craft Kits, so if you are a fan of chancing for the super rare rewards, t3 maps are still a good choice. Otherwise it's better to sell the loot from excavation. Wanted to post this quick update to let people know.

To get the better of beeing on T3 for excavating you should excavate in a T3 zone right? If you are T3 ilvl but excavate lets say in Azure Wind Island , will you ever get T3 excavate materials? Thanks for the video and the information YiGuy! :)

Something I feel you may have slept on a bit in regards to leap's essence: You can pop a leap's essence right before roughly every other 5x minigame for significant rewards while reducing how much life energy is burned on regular excavation. I think you'll find the returns are quite high with this method as excavation takes incredible advantage of it by ransoming the buff for those huge doubled minigame rewards.

does the rarity of your excavation tool/stats affect the chest rng from crafted maps? Idk if i've been super lucky but out of 20 maps I crafted I received 4 master craft kits. Currently using a relic tool btw

if you fail the mini game you can simply press ESC. then wait for the relic to disapear and dig it agian for another chance, just be warry of your mini game timer :)

i usually wait till mini game to use dog and leap essence so i don't have to waste all those energy on previous 5 digs. once you are finished with mini game. just sit for five mins before digging so you no longer waste additional energy on dog. took me a while to figure out its not worth to craft map until T3.

I've talked to many Korean version grinders and other NA excavators, no one has enough data to conclude for sure if the bonuses are working(since the bonuses are small %) but so far we all equip bonus tools and summon doggo when doing maps.

I went up 10 levels really fast in this (10-20 in 1 hour). Found a spot in Bilbrin forest and I would use my mount to get around using that sonar for the blip over my head and run around the map on my mount.

So I have been doing excavating since launch and Im at lvl 39, here are the few things I did and noticed, I bought all the energy potions in Mari Shop (not sure if Gold/Crystal is worth on your server) I ginded to the Minigame skill as fast as possible and then did around 15 lvls over time on Azure Island saving most of my Mats and tried to save up lots of the potions for T3, When I got to T3 I crafted 28 Punika Maps which made me around 19k Gold(No Mastercraftkit drop sad) with mostly T3 Enhance stuff sold, I found my nice little spot where Im mostly alone at Night right now so I let you figure that spot out yourself I do not agree on the dog its the worst skill, never use it wasting so much energy, Minigame is where its at. Never use the Multiple Potion, 3k Energy wasted, these Mats you got there I get with

The other Trade skills have a much more limited selection but in general reduce loss of durability roll is just not worth it, and gathering speed is kinda useless outside of platinum field.

To get better data, instead just using 10k energy from a full bar, I bought more energy potions to get a bigger sample. In the end I used 34k energy to get the number then divided by 3.4 to get number people can expect to make from a full bar of 10k energy.

T3 mats are tradeable and T2 are not. T2 is mainly useful if you plan to use them in your honing.

based on the rarity, the value of bonus they can roll is also diff. I believe you need Legendary for +3. (and Relic for +4)

always check prices of the mats on your server. It's always safe to sell the mats. But if you wanna gamble for potentially valuable kits can make maps(It's also a solid way to burn through stronghold exp)

Leap Essence unfortunately doesn't work on maps because chest in map doesn't consume energy, and the loot isn't doubled.

I found the azure island and have been using it until I, who is stuck in t2, also found a t3 island. It's got a few people now so I return back the the AZURE. Sad to know that my backup islandis fuked now LOL Edit: I don't know if this is a bug but the chests you find from crafted treasure maps add 1 counter to your minigame proc. You can stack maps until you get 5 from the same spot, use all 5 then teleport to a saved location to instantly proc the minigame without spending the first 5 energy. It's super time consuming though :c

I wish you put the map stuff in an excel or something. It's horribly unquantifiable in that gdoc, there is no separation between the snips to know what an average map actually drops. At today's prices your 20 map snip was about 6k value after 5% fee so call it 300g/map. That would mean roughly all oreha and half rare relics recoup required to break even which seems like a stretch or not really worth it even if it covers.

the price fluctuations are quite significant. I also got super unlucky with Excavation kits to be fair(getting 0 Legendary/Relic ones) The data def would be better in a spreadsheet though. No time for it atm between work/work on vids etc.

The excavation minigame is from the lvl 20 passive skill in excavation.

There are 2 ways to approach it. You can sell off all the materials from excavation, which is solid reliable profit(especially if you are good at the minigame) Or you can use them to craft maps, which is more of a gamble but have high potential pay off, but at the risk of getting unlucky.

In lab screen, you can select the tab that says Acquired Research and change it to Unavailable Research, and you should be able to find the research you need and see the requirements.
