Really slick project chop man. Love the creativity. I'm building a smaller cutting station at the end of my CertiFlat 4' x 4' table. However I am lazy, so I'm using a removable water tray to catch slag and douse sparks. Yours is much more creative and well . . . cool. kudos.

I also like that it acts as an out feed table for larger sheet work. Love this table set up with one addition: When I build this table for my shop, I'll be adding holes at the ends of each of the replaceable cutting supports, you call them slats @2:40, and a retaining rod to go inside the length of the square tube they are mounted in. One 1/4" or 3/8" pencil rod with threads on each end passing through the open end of the hinged square tube and through each of the support slats will be keep or retain them in the square tube cutout slots until you want to replace them. No falling out issues when the table is moved or bumped when in the down position either. Thumbs up for sure!

Dear Phil, very nice concept with a sturdy and level plasma table that cleans up after itself and it all packs away into a slim package. Good thinking. It’s funny how things go. I added some side-wings to my radial arm saw and had difficulty conceptualising how to support the wings which can swing down out of the way when not in use. Your long bi-fold hinge may be just the answer. Well done.
@HouseofChop2 жыл бұрын
Thank you I appreciate the generous words. The idea I stuck to with this build was sturdy but as light and tight as possible. The hinges work well. They could use some stops so they can fold in the wrong direction but otherwise have held up to all I’ve thrown at them and I’ve put some beefy stuff on it.

I saw a different video where the table folds down, like yours. And another video with a metal funnel, but didn't fold away. And another video with a bucket, and funnel but no water in the bucket. I want to make a plasma table, so I was going to put them all together. Then I saw your vid! Nice! But before I saw your vid, I already ditched the metal funnel idea and thought of making a cheap funnel out of a large welding blanket. It collapses even faster a is really cheap to buy. So I don't know anymore lol
