I’ve been prepping like crazy for the dlc! I’m on my 5th dlc character now. I hit 1500 hours recently and I’m still addicted to this game. I play other games when they come out (sometimes) but i always go straight back to elden ring. Definitely my favorite game of all time. This dlc is going to be amazing

The first run was the best, but the game got boring after the second run. I wish they had fixed this funky summoning system. I want my buddy to join my world and stay with me even after defeating a boss. Also, I'd prefer it if my buddy respawns at the nearest grace when he dies. I really don't like having to use the summoning finger every time. Devs can make the game more exciting by implementing these changes and making the game more recyclable.

Not only are the NPCs all really well acted, and interesting characters, and give you cool stuff... some of them even have "happy" endings! Or at least endings that don't doom them to death or agony. My big tips for NPC questlines: (Minor, vague spoilers ahead...) If you like Sellen, don't go looking for Primeval Sorcerer Lusat. If you like Rya, don't do anything drastic after she moves to a secluded location. If you like Boc, don't give him a weird key item late in his questline. And in general, don't give anyone anything to drink. (Grapes are fine, though.)

Strength + arcane build. P Put bleed on beastman curved swords (switch to occult for bosses that dont bleed) and if youre on NG+ do the same with gargoyles twinblades which are even stronger. For talismans use millicents prosthesis(kill Millicent after youve given her the valkyrie arm and killed the godskin apostle at the windmill village), winged sword insignia(in NG+ finish Millicents questline for the rotten version), Lord of Blood's Exultation(for non bleed bosses use what ever you like) and claw talisman. White mask helmet, Raptors blackfeathers chest armor. Plus for wonderous phsyic Use Thorny cracked tear that buffs consecutive attacks for 3 minutes. For the other tear use what ever you want. This build will trivialize the entire game.

Tip: You don't need to do anything with Kenneth, don't know if they changed this in a patch, but I've started playing again, totally forgot to ever go back to talk to Kenneth after the first time but did the Nepheli and Gostoc portions and the quest finished as usual except Kenneth wasn't in the throne room. Another tip about the bell bearing hunters, they won't spawn unless you talk to the merchants and exhaust their dialog. This is troublesome for Bernhal and really troublesome for the turtle pope as he has a lot of dialog and you only need to get through most of it and not actually all of it. The point is if the hunter isn't spawning at night try talking to the merchants again to see if there's dialog options you didn't do yet..

Great guide! I sure hope they think about re-working the rune system. It would be nice to get the full powerup from using a rune arc, but I do feel like you should at least get a partial buff (33%) for unlocking the rune and having it equipped. For it being such a big part of the game I hardly ever bother with them.

Yes, thanks I have been following your things you missed guide and also followed a Guide from Its shatter that allowed me to kill every boss and invasion without missing key Items and quests. This allowed me to know what to do and what not to do while being region locked so I didn’t miss anything. Qnd one more tip, on your new game plus peeps, just do the farm and prep for your next build, if you still have not beat the game you can do the bird farm from the same site of grace dom mentiobs here and shoot the giant bird from the ridge with a crossbow or bow.

@@MarkNathanOfficial overall, pretty solid. Way better than “Lords of the Fallen” on my Series X, which freezes and drops frames nonstop. Which, is pretty sad that Elden Ring runs better on SteamDeck than a game running on an actual console. This is why you always trust FromSoftware.

You totally do not have to beat Anastasia at her earlier invasion spots to get her consecrated snow field invasion to occur. Just go straight there and it happens. I tried on Ng+ and on a different character on first play through.

I got two set up for the DLC. One is fully completed game on NG+8, yes I'm ready to die constantly. And one that is set up on basic level waiting to see if DLC will give a new ending. Cant wait!!

I’ve been been doing prep on my character, and roaming around having fun, I’ve killed all of the bosses, but I only kept Mohg, Malenia and Radagon alive in case there is some extra dialogue from them when the Shadow of the Erdtree drops.

how do you max level? the sheer amount of killing to get that many runes translated to time is impossible. what should I do?

@@soup7850After defeating Elden beast the first time I got his sacred relic sword. Go to the hill at mohgwyn dynasty and use the sword to sweep the hill of the albinaurics, then sit at grace and repeat. Over and over. Use the gold scarab as well to maximize the rune drop.

My recommendation on how to “prepare” for the dlc is to not touch the game for a few months and start a fresh playthrough as a Wretch. The best part of any souls experience is a blind playthrough. No matter what you decide, the dlc will be an epic experience.

Video is great but one thing I disagree with, leveling up at the end of New game is kind of a waste of time as upon starting New game+ the runes given upon kill double. Complete Varre's quest and I can be at Mohgwyn palace farming within 40min of starting New game+ collecting double what New game gives at 100k+ per run, the leveling goes soooo much faster this way, and there isn't really any need to level up from where you ended New game thru the completion of Varre's quest in New game+. Seems to me the best positiin you could be in for the DLC is having just finished New game+. Keep up the great content!!

I'm pretty sure it's just the capital. Since it becomes ash. Not 100% but it's not too difficult to go through the early areas for the good loot either way. I'm pretty sure you can still go to the underground but the capital itself is gone. Just the area before the boss inside the city

12:45 That's wrong. Rune Arcs also rarely drop from rats, particularly the ones in that dark room behind Castle Morne, where I occasionally farmed them for that specific cause.

Iji is not necessarily a permanent source, Bell Bearings carry over playthroughs, and their items are accessible in the "hub" at all times after being turned in

I wouldn't say that without full conformation. 👀These companies aren't close to being the same they use to be and they let us down 9/10 more often now. 👀 From Software always deliver, but I wouldn't say it's for sure gonna be at the Game Awards, but it could be. I just know a lot of people including myself will be pissed if it's not there, but i don't expect a release date if it is. Summer is when I think the dlc will launch though in my opinion.

A slight exaggeration perhaps, but releasing the first (and probably only) expansion to a game, 2 years after release is well below average. They did much better with the Dark Souls trilogy. Not releasing the expansion has no doubt helped Armored Core sales though...

I've tried with this game, I love the aesthetic, the writing and the music but the combat is just so clunky. It really does amount to "Run it 30 times until you get the pattern down" It's like using the gym, only you don't make any gains, you become more of a fat loser. What's the friggin point?
