Greetings from Texas! I am turning 40 next year in October 2025, and I am trying to make a New England fall foliage trip happen to celebrate then. Being the type of planner I am... In Stowe now. Ditto all you covered less the colorful leaves. No lines or reservations needed this time of year but the traffic is still challenging. FYI: it's l "ah" ger, as opposed to ale. Some of the best at Trapps. Cheers.

I've done soooo much planning and research to hopefully time the fall foliage just right! I am glad I didn't go in 2023 because I heard it wasn't a great year! Oh cool! We flew from San Francisco to Boston for this trip. From there we took a car to Bar Harbor, then New Hampshire, then Vermont, then Connecticut, and finally Rhode Island before we returned home via Boston. It was much cheaper for us this way!

Great but hard question. Our top 3 are Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, but if we could only pick two, it would be New Hampshire and Vermont. Riding down the Kancamagus Highway was an experience unlike any other we’ve had, and we also loved Stowe!
