Thanks for the video Adam. So basically what I got from this is that if we use the Polylang plugin, the plugin itself is not actively doing any translations at all. It is simply a “switch” of sorts that takes you from one page to another. We still need to create the pages, etc. from scratch in each language. Am I on the right track or did I miss something?

That's very strange that you wouldn't have it. I wonder if there something in your WordPress theme that is preventing from that option to be added. What you can do is activate a different theme, see and then see if it's there. If it is you know it's a problem with your theme.

I have one question, I'm using LearnDash and the Social Learner theme (I purchased both after watching your AMAZING video, and of course I used the links on your website as referral) and now I'm wondering if I can translate the theme buttons and pre-defined text when users switch from one language to another from the front-end. I'm using Polygram and so far the only translation I can control is the content of the website and the menus, but I'm not sure how to change the predefined text that comes with the Social Learner theme, for example the button "Take this course" or the tags on the cover of the courses "Completed", "Enrolled", "Free", etc... would you advise?

Well it typically boils down unfortunately to money. WPML is kind of expensive in my opinion. However it probably does the best job and they have been further developing it lately to work with all the various page builders.

Thanks for the excellent video! I was wondering if there's a way to prevent Beaver Builder from automatically changing to the language of the front end of the page. In other words, my default language is English, but whenever I add a page in another language through Polylang, Beaver Builder automatically translates to the respective language. This in itself is not a major problem, but for some reason, the Hebrew version of Beaver Builder has a bug and doesn't allow full width pages.

You ned to use both plug-ins that I talk about in this video. The other plug and I talked about is going allow you to change those strings, that is what they're called strings, those bits and pieces of information that you're not necessarily entering in a page or post.

When I activate the plugin, the website visitor can't visit the site, because they see an error which says that there are too many redirects. This is very strange, I haven't heard of this problem before. You can contact the support for the plug-in and asked them, I'm sure someone would have experienced the same thing and would know how to resolve it.

That's a good question, I would contact the team over at WPML to see how best to handle that. To see if you need direct integration or if you are going to need to create a separate slider that is already been translated.

Great video, thanks for your work. Dear, i have this issue and can't fix it, tried everything, at least i don't know enough in wordpress to fix it. The issue is that my theme has options and these options are inserted by admin, i mean you have to introduce the text you want to show it in the front, so these options Polylang doesn't give me the option to translate. So i googled and found out that i have to use wpm-config.xml file. Great, now i know this is the solution, but here we go again i don't know what to code inside it and where to put this file, i mean in database. No you can use the plugins talked about to create your own translation. However I would think that very outdated plugins and themes, from years ago, may not work. I am not positive on this though, but you wouldn't want to run outdated code like that anyway.

After publishing my posts both the English and the Spanish posts will appear on my "blog" section in my English menu even though I have a Spanish translation for that Page... Hi, i'm currently working on a client's website with a previously installed WPML plugin. However the subscription had already expired when I got my hands on the site, and the plugin won't update anymore unless I renew it. I'd like to switch to the free Polylang not to charge extra money to my client, but I have a few doubts about it: 1)is there a way with Polylang to automatically clone a page template when I create a new translation, or do I have to manually copy the template? 2)Do the changes made on a page template reflect on the translated version of that page, or I have to copy everything manually? With WPML this process is automated, is it the same with Polylang?

WPCrafter.com WordPress For Non-Techies Hi. I found a nice plugin named WPML to Polylang which automatically transfers all wpml settings to polylang. It just needed some additional adjustments after the transition but i worked pretty good. Otherwise there's another plugin named Duplicate Post which can be used to clone pages, so you can clone a page and then assign it as its clone translation.

Hello Adam, I appreciate this video all thought I am aware of Polylang but wasn't aware of other plugins available. I think you should do another video more in depth using Polylang. I'm currently building a multi language authority site using a simple free theme and Polylang. But I am having issues with not having all the categories, tags, plugins features etc.. translated as well. Is this still possible with the Free version of Polylang. I also know SEO features doesn't come with the free version, but is there a free alternative method or a plugin to be able to SEO optimize my site in both languages? I am also using Yoast SEO. My website is English and Spanish, I am fluently in both.

I don't see why Polylang doesn't have SEO features since each page is independent and can have their own separate SEO settings. I think you should also be pairing it with Loco Translate to get translations for those "strings" like categories, etc.

Hello! Literally step 2 was useless to me and thats why I clicked on the video. I wanted to translate my whole site to Bulgarian and all you said was "Well just translate it!". My problem is that with LifterLMS there are pre made achievements and stuff on english and i want to translate them, but i dont know how to access them and "Well just translate it!" didnt help at all. And i coudnt translate my plugins or i didnt manage to understand where to put the .mo and .po files. Thanks!
