He's too slow, and he's being schemed open. He will not create any separation at the next level if he gets there.
@JohnDoe-f7w8nАй бұрын
Look at the film. He’s beating one on one coverage everytime they try that
@ant8ank2Ай бұрын
Every offensive coordinator in the country "schemes" their best players open. He's not slow and regardless, speed alone doesn't get you open; understanding leverage, defensive coverages and route running does. This is especially true at TE where you're typically in a crowded part of the field. Many legendary TEs were not what some would consider "fast"
@annepaul5737Ай бұрын
Go look at past TE Dalton Kincaid and Brock Bowers there separation and athleticism pop out on film. Fannin looks like he’s struggling to even run with no knee lift or anything. 7th rounder special teams at best.
@ant8ank2Ай бұрын
@@annepaul5737 you named two TEs and of those two Brock Bowers is a freak athlete. Yes those two pop out on film for sure 100%. But I remember Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Alge Crumpler, Jeremy Shockey, Dallas Clark, Jason Witten, Health Miller, Chris Cooley, Greg Olson, Todd Heap, Brent Celek on and on hell even Travis Kelce isn’t a burner but these are all guys that could not separate with speed alone and still had excellent careers. The assessment just doesn’t seem fair, there’s so many things he does seem to do well. I’m not saying you’re wrong or right, stick to your opinion I just think you’re over focusing on the speed variable. Only time will tell us and I may be incorrect in my assessment.

Best TE in the class hands down. Absolutely can not understand how he is so under rated in dynasty circles right now with 100 Rec, 1,300 yds, and 8 TDs. Those are like the best TE numbers of all time. And he did it against top competition in Penn St and Texas A&M too. It wasn't all just against weak opponents. Best TE numbers ever and Im yet to see one dynasty mock with him in the first or even top half of the 2nd round. Crazy.

As a Chargers fan, I was getting “down” thinking Loveland and Warren will probably be gone by pick 22, we REALLY NEED a TE in the Harbaugh style of play (Remember Vernon Davis). Not anymore. This kid paired with McConkey would eat short and midrange with Hebert throwing dots. This guys catch radius is amazing, soft hands and has the running back background. He has above average “twitch” for a big man. good burst and accelerates well, though maybe not real fast top end speed, he gets to top speed quick, great change of direction. Bowling Green was a passing offense and a TE has to be able to block in a Harbaugh offense. He is a physical player and willing blocker, but not as big as the other two which makes his in-line blocking a question at the next level, but is willing and effective against safties/DBs and smaller LBs. I have seen him rated late first to early second. I think the Boltz take him if the other two are gone. He reminds me A LOT of an old Chargers’ nemesis… Shannon Sharpe
