The best thing about these laptops is the fact the they have upgradeable ram and storage with some having both m.2 and 2.5' SATA or two m.2 slots for storage and of course upgradeable ram.

I am currently using an HP Elitebook 845 G7 given by my company as the main workstation and the only main complain is that, like Tesla EV, suffers from Phantom Battery Drain. Our Corporate IT reached out to HP and said they have never encountered this issue and I was told HP won’t honor the existing warranty they gave to the company. Which kinda sucks..

Our uni offers HP zbook studio g5’s and on paper, they are amazing but jesus, the fingerprint scanner on my unit barely works, the soundcard/speaker on my friends unit broke on day 1, my speakers volume decreases dramatically when listening to music where multiple instruments play at the same time and another friends screen broke out of the box... also ive never heard a worse DAC inside a laptop before... might be broken too but at this point im just not sure

I use a 840 G5 with core i7 gen8 at work. It is much slower than my seller specific HP laptop with core i5 gen6 that is 3 years old from the same price category. Also we have problems with some drivers. On mine I can't change the speaker volume. Others are just freezing randomly between sleeps once or twice in a month. Also it can not drive 4K at 60fps. On the plus side the G5 is very light and has quite good screen, battery lasts 3-6 hours. So it's a strong meh.
