I personally don't like porter's. They're kinda expensive and I'd rather bank the items and make more profit. I've only used them during archaeology when I'm at a really annoying spot with no cart nearby, such as in certain parts of the stormguard citadel

You generally don't make more money, the time banking most things is less cost effective then just using porters, they really arent expensive when you think about it. Porter can post about 450gp per charge while a material or ore is usually 2-6k.
