I’m Australian and had 6 of my box set orders get canceled from one of our largest online book stores. The reason given was due to supply chain interruptions and that they would not be available for the remainder of 2021. Whether or not this was just a result of the pandemic delaying production or greed related, I can’t say, but I do hope they keep producing them as it’s way more convenient and the 5 sets I did manage to get look great.

@@maxb294 Those were two of the ones I had ordered that got cancelled. As annoying as it is, all we can hope is it's a production delay because the Demon Slayer and One Piece Box 4 shows they're still willing to do them.

I will buy some newer manga full price at my local comic book store just to support the local spots, especially if I'm caught up with an ongoing series cause they won't be out all that often (something like MHA, One Punch Man). A good 80% of stuff I get is less than cover price though. I will however spend up to 100$ for certain volumes of a certain rare out of print manga.

It’s also convenient, finish all your manga reserves for a certain series your reading?Stop by the B&N or whatever IRL store and get a volume or 2. Way more satisfying then buying all at once. More trips to the bookstores means you see more manga in volume *bad um tsh* you see new things everytime, what’s new, what’s old, stuff that catches your eye. It’s all about the experience for me, as a newbie with this stuff. Altough you can’t beat online prices and availability.

With inflation on the rise and scaplers buying everything up and over charging. This is a big reason why in 2022 im going to finally go digital in the Shonen app. 🤷🏽‍♂️ more cost efficient, i have ALL my series in one place, (instead of trying to find space for my physical ones and as well as find space for book my book shelves. Currently sitting at 8 SHEVLES...😬😬😬) and its easier to read the most popular series that are typically sold out/hard to find. But still boxsets are 🔥 and best bang for your buck most times. Also keep up the amazing vids.

"oh wow I found a bleach box set that's cheaper in *dollars US* than individual volumes collected" me who payed liked 120 *pounds* for 9 volumes of Battle Angel (this was with deluxe bonuses like ashen victor chapters and a while after the film with problems printing enough of the box set) I would say some of the prices near the end of the vid, even 2 months out of date, are a bit of a rip off though. closer to first release, many of those sets were cheaper. I can personally account for Claymore complete set, £90 the year it dropped which is something around $120 ~ $130 at the time, 2016, right now they can't print enough of them and over $200 is too much IMO

well the problem is, that it's not certain which series will get abox set and when. So if you don't want to buy the same thing twice, then you have to wait for an uncertain time. I don't have any box sets and the only ongoing series that I have a lot of volumes of is MHA. I have 12 volumes so if they will make a box set of the first 20 or so volumes then it wouldn't benefit me getting it. Maybe I'll slow down and wait for a box set 2 or something, but if there is no news, then I can't know what to do.
