Both are good in their own ways. UMvC3 laid the foundation and tried to stick closely to the iconic comic designs. Rivals took it up a notch and took what UMvC3 had in mind and stylized it even more.

They don’t have the GoTG but could you compare Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1/2 and ig 3. (Good luck finding Gold Edition Marvel Ultimate Alliance, they have 8 more characters.) (Also Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has Juggernaut but that was a GameStop exclusive and he’s not in the game yet)

@ The Rivals skins are so obnoxiously over designed; there’re so many unnecessary lines and segmentations to the point where it makes some of the designs look unfocused and ugly. UMVC3 keeps the sleek and iconic looks from the comics (they literally look like they jumped out the pages). Rivals tried to “reinvent the wheel” with a lot of there designs, whereas UMVC3 knew that you can’t beat perfection.

@cic1470 No it's literally just their comic book designs in a 3D format. The only "Overdesigned" skins/character designs I can think of is probably wolverine, space knight venom, that undead hela skin even though it looks near 1 to 1 from the source material and maybe doctor strange and Moon knight.

@@rykage149 You don’t have to agree with me, but it’s like the Marvel Rivals art team is incapable of understanding the phrase “less is more.” The vast majority of the designs in Rivals have way too much going on. If you want to agree to disagree, fine. If not, I’ll go character-by-character and point out all the bullshit I personally find obnoxious and unnecessary in their designs.
