@@ffucko oh my god that’s crazy. A year already? It turned out great and I absolutely loved the idea of spending time doing a giant project. Took about 2 weeks since I wasn’t able to play much but I still have it in my world atm

I use the same style of water item transport in my mine but for bulk items to sorter/smelter, (cobble, dirt, stones ect.). I use a Mule in my main tunnel to the branches filled with shulkers of tools, torches, and extra shulkers once I am out of my spawn chunks. Way faster to your mine hub if the main tunnel is farther away. I plan on switching to a shulker box system where I throw shulkers full of bulk items into the water streams to unload and be sorted/smelted. I have a zombie spawner at the top of my mine that allows to send shulker boxes of pickaxes through a water stream to be ready at the grinder once I deal with chores in the mine. I also recommend having a system where you can transport items to surface chests by water stream and be sorted. Saves a lot of time when using mined material for builds since you won’t have to go all the way down to the Bottom of your mine to grab them! More things to come in the future, might even make a video showing/ explaining the mining system!

*Adding to my comment I also start a my tunnel at Y:11 each branch is 4 blocks tall which may take longer to mine but it allows me to see up to Y:15 for finding Diamonds. Torches are placed every 13 blocks, mine fortune ores with silk touch for more inventory space.

Cobblestone, stone bricks, polished diorite, polished andesite, white concrete, glass, sea lanterns, coal blocks, chests, hoppers, water source blocks, pressure plates, ice, soul sand, redstone lamps, lava source blocks, obsidian, slime blocks, signs, sticky pistons, and probably a few others. Does that answer your question?

I have gotten that suggestion many times but I have to specify that it is a collection system rather than a sorting system. There are tutorials on youtube for a sorting system if you want to look them up. In my Automatically Refueling Super Smelter Guide video, partway through I show how to use the item streams. You can use this knowledge to achieve something similar to what I have if you so desire. In essence, it's just water streams running over hoppers connected to chests.

Can you explain the dimensions to me as I’m building this as well. It’s a 16x16 to what point do you stop at? On your Y level? And then when building the tunnels, what is your highest point? As well as width in between each little tunnel/mine on your hunt for diamonds?

4 but it doesn't matter. You can have any design that you choose. The main purpose was to have a nice looking tunnel with plenty of space, an item stream that leads into a storage system, and rows of tunnels that are a certain width and height.

All that matters is that you dig down to Y-11 and dig 3 block tall tunnels. There are two blocks between each mine for efficiency.
