In my country it comes for 2.200€ No thanks, i can go for a small form factor pc that is not that bigger for almost half the price or around 1.000€ less.

Yeah , its around 2300€ in my area as well. For this type of money you can get an 18inch laptop with RTX4080 and BEST CPU there is on the market be it Razen or Intel chips. Its insane what they are asking for this unit.

Although the thermal performance is dissapointing, it could have been great to use Intel XTU or Throttlestop to play a little bit with it and check if thermal throttling could have been avoided.

Oh. My. Gosh. You really don't have an idea how to maintain modern notebook hardware. All new PCs use phase change thermo interfaces. And you cover CPU and GPU with paste like it is a peanut butter sandwich... Of course it's gonna throttle!

why why only one thunderbolt 4 port? deal breaker for me. I dont understand the logic here. There are way smaller miniPC with two USB4 ports.
@racerex34011 күн бұрын
Your thermal paste application itself was fine, but if you look at the paste spread on the CPU plate, only half of the CPU plate appears to have had solid contact, so in addition to the two heat-pipe solution more applicable for a 35W ultrabook, it looks like there was also an issue with mounting pressure, although I admit that even with perfect pressure that cooling solution wouldn't be able to sustain anything over 60W with fan on full-speed and without eventually throttling. What a terribly designed CPU cooling solution. If they're going to go with a high-powered CPU like the 185H, they should have copied their laptop solutions and used both a vapor chamber and liquid metal, they've shown they can dissipate at least 180W in the last-gen G14 laptop with dual vapor chambers and liquid metal, and this thing has more space for thicker heatsinks and more airflow than a 14" gaming notebook. Another missed opportunity Asus!

I think the thermal pad you mention at 7:51 is for the M.2 slots... not the GPU. It lines up with the bottom of what you show on the screen.

I was going to point this out as well. You are correct, the orange thermal pad is for the other 2 M.2 slots, not the cpu or gpu.

Considering the bulk of the fan module, they could have gone with standard sized case fans rather than laptop blowers.

This is okey. The advantages are: - Low Fan Noise - Working Thunderbolt port - 3 SSD Slots - Well cooled GPU - Windows included - No need to build it yourself The issues I see are: - CPU temps and thermal throttling - Huge Power Supply - If something breaks, it is difficult to replace or fix Undecided as to whether should I get one or not. These videos help a lot

@@ali09gaming58 But, for instance, the Velka 3 model with the i5 13400 has to be CPU power limited, as the cooler's headroom can't handle the full CPU while in turbo mode. I think it happens with most SFF PCs. If there is one combo that doesn't thermal throttle, I am interested to know. Maybe the Atoman G7? But it's prebuilt too
@ali09gaming5811 күн бұрын
@@thephoenixchant Atomman g7 seems like another mini pc/laptop specs in a mini pc. im talking about proper pc sized specs, but you may not get it in very small sizes like 4 litres or less.
