It is just awesome to live vicariously through you guys in the retro game field. Here in Korea, if an adult plays video games, they are seen as being "childish". There really isn't a noticeable retro or video game market here. There is something, but it's a small community. Thanks again Wicked and Mr. Port! That is INDEED a unique retro build!

A friend of mine, who passed away in 2017, had the FZ-10 3DO and the complete library of games and controllers. He bought the system when it was priced at $250. The system had a lot of good games including the best versions of Samurai Shodown and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Anyway great review and cool video Wicked!👉😃👈

I used to think that until some KZbinrs did some side by sides. Street Fighter had mildly smaller characters and all the parallax in the background got cut. There is a Saturn version that is arcade perfect and I think the PS1 also has a version? As for Samurai Showdown. It’s missing some frames from the Neo Geo version and loading. But these were both great conversion and I didn’t notice them not being Arcade perfect until 20 years later seeing KZbin comparisons. My friend had this and I would come over and play the crap out of the 3DO. He had road rash that was awesome and also need for speed.

For the disc rot, that depends. How you store it, but even more so: manufacturing defects. If the discs are stored correctly (dry, cool, dark place), and disc rot still occurs, then it (the disc) wasn't sealed correctly. My early-mid '80s audio CDs still sound immaculate, without any skipping✨

I had like 50 DVDs with disc rot including all of the Star Wars and Voltron:Red Lion. But I managed to buy again about half. But yeah most of the time disc rot comes from manufacturing errors/impurities. Saturn and GameCube are probably the worst.🤔

I've never experienced disc rot. I didn't know it was a thing, some of my discs were bought used and I even have magazine compilations from years ago. Not one.

​@@hectormontalvo5565 Oof. You were quite unlucky. With these large quantities of defective manufacturing, plant that produced these media made mistakes, or their quality control was subpar. During the LaserDisc's (MCA DiscoVision, Disco-Vision Records, LaserVision; they really could decide on the format name😆) lifespan, one particular manufacturing unit in Arizona was notorious for how fast their discs would go bad🚮💿📀

Hi Wicked. I liked megarace, I had it packed in with my Packard bell computer from 1994. FX fighter for DOS was a poor man's Virtua fighter and it was bad. Despite FX Fighter for DOS being bad, I still played it a lot with a gravis PC gamepad.

I remember seeing those in electronics stores for $700 when they launched. It was laughable. I had one years later that I picked up at a Swap Meet for $25 or something. It was cool, it's like a lower powered PS1. I love Return Fire!

Ik heb deze nog nieuw gekocht in eind 1993 voor 2000 gulden , import , helemaal met de trein van Elburg naar Amsterdam Dit was inderdaad het allereerste model . Chrash n burn , roadrash en Total eclipse , zijn nog steeds leuk voor mij als Arcade liefhebber .

There is a way to get older consoles to run at faster MHz by adding a new crystal thats slightly faster to the cpu. The ones Ive seen for the 3DO is a 14MHz crystal, and 16MHz as well. Thats an awesome mod. You can add these to the Neo-Geo as well, and possibly SNES and Turbo Duo. I wish I could see this mod done in person, so I wish your 3DO had this mod done to it. However, your 3DO is outstanding and I really love it! Where can I get myself one? Also, I own a FZ1 myself, but the cd belt broke and I need a new one. I own a Goldstar, and a Video CD adapter that came with Total Recall. I wish that there was a cheap and awesome new way to get that working with every game, instead of only using it like the XBone's HD-DVD addon that did nothing for games, but instead lets the XBone user to play HD-DVD movies. Kinda useless. Also, can you show us the mods you have done to your 3DO upclose with directions for us to do these mods on our own console? It'd be appreciated. Like the RGB adaptor? I would like to see what wires its connected to, and do this myself. Also, the sound spdif adaptor. I have modded my JPN FZ1 also with a spdif mod, but I had to tap into the analogue audio and it basically turns the audio from analogue to digital. I am not sure where the original digital sound is on the motheroard, I only see where it begins at it's analogue form and tap into that. Any help is appreciated. I'd also like to know where to get an ODE for all my systems, and and I take it Kriks is the best Everdrive maker? Thank you for your time WG&C.

The mods ar awesome. I was the only one in my neighborhood that had a 3DO. Sold mine years ago though since emulation has gotten quite good. Any mods that add SVCD, cDVD, or h.264 playback?

How do I get that improved 3DO Doom please? It looks awesome! I'm having an ODE fitted with a USB port on my FZ-1 but don't really understand the ROM stuff. Does it need the original Doom ROM and this is like a launcher or is it a standalone?

No worries, I found it! It's "Hack OptiDOOM V2.0" and I'm now playing it on my 3DO with the ODE! It even has Doom 2!!

WAW, Need for Speed, It gets a lot of stick For being the worst need for speed. But I had a lot of fun with this game with my friend at the time. We use to have split screen races, He hated losing, One rematch after another. And road rash Ahh, The best version ever. We'll never know what the MK2 would have brought to the table, All i know is it would have wiped the floor with the blocky PS1. Anyway great memories my friend. I have the FZ1 sadly without the Box. I did have one years ago, with a stack of original games mint, But gave it to my friend who is no longer my friend. YEH!. Sadly I don't have any games no more. Only copies which i was given when i brought my 3DO. I do have a lot of original consoles though with lots of games, I love Retro, Sometimes i think It's More fun than Playing todays consoles. Very good video mate, It's the first time Iv'e seen the Inside of a 3DO, Interesting My friend.

When this gaming system came out it was almost $1,000 in US currency which would be about $1,400 in today's US currency the console was doomed to fail right off the starting line and it did miserably. But now of days the console lives out the gaming library in emulation which is where most people will play the games from this console any way so they do not have to spend the large amounts of money to collect the console and games.
