A modded WiiU together with a modded New 2Ds/3Ds XL is the ultimate combo. I use these two a lot more than I use my Nintendo Switch (which is soft modded as well).

Id argue steam deck and modded 3ds is a better combo. You can do most 3ds on a steam deck as well, but nothing beats that authentic experience, form factor and unique features you just cant emulate.

The custom Wii U menus aren’t that different than the vanilla. I really like the stock menu. The Wii U ui in general is really nice already. But hopefully in the future they make themes for Nintendo characters etc.

I gave my Wii U to my 14 year old nephew. He’s really enjoying this with tiramisu setup and he’s an Xbox gamer mostly. Oh well. I’d rather see him enjoy it now after a few years.

I’m new to the Wii U game, I bought a wind waker edition Wii U and I wanna mod it. I have 2 modded 3ds systems and they’re amazing. I missed out on the peak of Wii U so everything is super expensive, I plan on getting homebrew for it and experiencing the full potential of the system asap.

Just figured out my 3ds homebrew, the sd card had some very odd corruption and it took me a few years to get back and actually go fix it. This very much makes me wanna mod my Wii U lmfao and ctgp sounds like an absolute blast.

For any wanting to play StarFox Zero listen carefully, don't play the main story first. Go to training mode and spend about two hours learning the controls, because the motion controls are kinda complicated. There's a minus button that swap screens and you have the ability to turn the motion controls on or off in the pause menu. It's easier to shoot everyone in first person mode, where as all ranged mode is easier for avoiding enemies.

I need help understanding. You have injected all of your vWii emulators onto your wiiU homepage. Does this mean you have two external storage connected? one for vWii and one for wiiU games, and you switch each time? Or is it all on the wiiU storage, and you can FTP using fillezilla or something over? How do you get the vWii games over AND have wiiU games?

Hey Scott! Nice Video! I actually was pretty surprised when you went to the vWii side of things and suddenly I saw the custom theme you got me there! I didn’t know that you could do that on a Wii U with priiloader and everything! I do have a question. My homebrew launcher is always 4:3 not 16:4 so it’s not Widescreen on my vWii i always use a red hombrew channel. How can you make the normal blue one into a widescreen hombrew channel?

I really like your videos and have a modded Wii U as well and also think it is the best console for modding as well. My favorite game of all-time is Donkey Kong Country Returns too 👍 I have Retroarch installed but may prefer to just have separate direct emulators for each system as a channel. I would like to see a video on how you have added the SNES, NES and MAME channels. Wondering if it is possible to have a powered USB harddrive for all your Wii and GameCube games connected to your Wii U along with a Micro SD on a USB stick for Wii U games? I think the answer is No, but I noticed that you have USB Loader GX and Wii flow on your Wii U. If so, how did you do that? Finally, I installed a ton of content from Nuspli and reorganized it into folders and now I have a bunch of empty pages on the Wii U menu and cannot remove them. Any ideas? I am on Tiramisu. Related to this, I am now getting a Wii U message on load up of the main Wii U menu that states 'Not all software could be displayed as there are no empty slots. Please delete any software you are not using via Data Management in System Settings'. I have 512GB micro SD card and the Data Management states I have 24GB still free, however new games I download/install from Nuspli are not showing on the main Wii U menu. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Don't bother, it isn't worth the pain (so far), I spent 8 hours, an entire all nighter, trying to get everything I need on it. None of the guides tell you everything, none of the tutorials either, wait maybe a year to do so. This community keeps hiding important steps to avoid legal stuff so you can't really get anything done unless you know what you're doing.

@@funkyscott47 It is currently free...but may not stay so. You can always have one profile on Nintendo servers and another profile on Pretendo so you can go back and forth. I think it will be available free by the time the Nintendo servers go down.

Does Not64 run better on Wii U than on an original Wii? I tried playing Castlevania Legacy of Darkness on my homebrewed Wii last year but the emulation was very flawed.

Not really. There’s no N64 emulator on the Wii U because there just wasn’t enough interest. But you can overclock Wii64 and Not64 with the added horsepower of the Wii U so it’s mostly okay Only downside is you can’t use the Switch Online N64 controller on the Wii side

Question, on wii u do you have to have separate storage device for wii games and wii u games, or can it all be on the same storage device and will wii u detect all games if it's all on the same device?

You can use the SD card for Wii games, for Wii U, NAND games save data will be in the SD card, and if you need more storage for Wii U games, you will need a USB stick, or hard drive with and Y cable (it has 2 USB ports, one for the data travel and the other one for extra power) but I recommend a hard drive. Note: You can't access to the Wii U USB drive on the PC, it will way that you have to format it.
