He had to concentrate so hard on that because the AI is broken in MK/midway games. The only way to win was to use move exploits but that makes it 10 times harder on endurance rounds because if he forgot what move triggers what his fucked. Thats why you saw him calmly shuffle forward abit then back away and kept doing it so he had the right spacing. Jump back attack triggers AI to launch a projectile and sweep must trigger them to run at you

When this first came out I watched a buddy of mine LITERALLY break this game playing ermac...he was the first person I had ever seen play ermac in such a dominant, combo heavy fashion... Imagine seeing the telekinetic slam combos for the very first time in the late 90's .... This was when you could not Google combos online bcuz...well...we had to Netscape or Yahoo it lol ...in a FAQ lol...I was not an MK guy as much as I was into Street Fighter Alpha at the time before getting into Tekken tournament play but I watched dude make the damn MK cabinet reset lol...

Obviously the games are programmed in such a way that every opponent shoots a projectile when you jump backwards. The player takes advantage of that by doing a teleport and starting a combo
