did you use rive for the animations in this video? I'm asking to know if it's wise to jumpship from after effects to rive full time for vector animations, and info graphics

Yes, I used Rive for the infographics and others you see in the video. Though it's supposed to be used for runtimes but I use it for these purposes as well.

I dont see how writing code has any relevance to animating vector elements. No one codes vec anims lol

He was saying that pre Rive complex vector animations had to be painstakingly coded. At around 1:13 he says that now "you can create animations and their underlying logic directly in the editor all without writing a single line of code". Ngl I was confused at first too. He should prob either cut that entire 1 min before that statement short or cut it out because now I'm unsure about getting the course because Im worried that he'll have a habit of over explaining undeded details to me lol I'm gonna watch some of his youtube vid to get a feel for his teaching style first.

@@AtomicPixelsLottie does not have a state machine, so it’s limited to only animation, not interaction. You can’t interact with a Lottie animation unless someone codes it to interact separately of the animation app. In Rive, you can connect your animation to states, blend layers of animation, add listeners and inputs, all within the app. Not to mention, you can rig bones and joysticks for characters (that work at runtime), unlike Lottie.
