I made a router table using acrylic. Whenever I used the router, I used to think of a structure where the motor and bit inside could be seen. I thought that installing LED lights there would be more comfortable when working. The top plate is made of 20mm thick acrylic, and the fence is made of acrylic and illuminated. I also made a bit drawer at the bottom, and I used the rails of the bit drawer as a power line, so I worked on it without the need for a separate wire. The LED in the bit drawer is designed to be turned on only when the drawer is opened. The electric wire of the fence is made in the form of an iron spring, so when the fence moves, the wire moves comfortably. Since the dust collection tube at the top is connected to the closed space at the bottom of the motor to collect dust at once, there is little dust coming out. I wanted to show you that the router table can also be made for interior purposes. If you look closely at the video, you can see that each part of the work contains a lot of tips. Please refer to that, and I hope it will help you create a cooler router table. You may think that the top will be severely scratched because it is made of transparent acrylic. However, I made it easy to remove the top plate. So after some use, I'm thinking of sanding the top with about 600 grit of sand to make it milky translucent, or making the top again with wood. The transparent state is so pretty that I'll be using it for the time being. Thank you.

Could have probably used your wire spring ideal on the draws ..the contact is a little shaky ...? But nice job 👍
@Kynosys_Ай бұрын
When I thought about applying electricity to the drawer rail, what I didn't expect was poor contact caused by grease. However, since there are so many contact points, I expected that this would offset that and a sufficiently stable current would flow. However, in reality, the flow of current is always unstable while moving. But even that was nice when I thought of it as indicating movement. I think the unexpected results suggested a better direction. Thank you for your kind words.

I'm very aware of the concerns about scratches. Of course, they're going to come out. The many scratches on your worktable are the beautiful results of your skill set. As the scratches on my acrylic router table get bigger and bigger, I'm ready to enjoy them to the fullest. And if you've watched my video carefully, you've seen me sand the acrylic surface with 600# sandpaper. Then the transparency decreases, but the light is evenly distributed throughout, so it's rather more beautiful. My acrylic top plate can be easily disassembled by loosening the bolts. If the scratches get too bad while using it, I'm thinking of making it like that. I didn't want to sand the transparent one in the first place because I didn't like that. I'm a person who enjoys a priori experiments. I hope you enjoy my works from that perspective. I'm saying that I'm pursuing a slightly different perspective from practicality. Thank you.

Please tell me the wiring passing through the dust collection hose on the fence is screened with high voltage insulation? The static charge build up in the hose when high airflow and dry dust is racing through will destroy LED's and power supplies eventually.

Actually, I didn't even consider a high voltage insulator. Since I don't work on the router for hours and the dust collection hose has a wire inserted, I thought static electricity wouldn't be a big problem. A current of around 12V 5A is harmless to the human body. The battery of the car is 12V and the current is much larger, but it can be touched by humans. If it's a DC power source, there's a little damage at least at 50V. I'm not an expert in this field, so I hope you can comment. I think there are quite a few people who are afraid of 12V voltage than I thought. Let me tell you that's not the case. Thank you!
@jsjohnst2 ай бұрын
@ that is wrong and dangerous to say. A current as little as 50 milliamp can be easily fatal depending on circumstances. Will 12V 5A DC be fatal in 99% of situations, no, but that doesn’t mean you throw reckless abandon either. Don’t actually do this, but were you to lay a wrench across the terminals of a car battery, you’d understand how truly destructive the energy stored inside one can be even if you’d just get a jolt touching it.

Pretty? Yes! Ultimate? No! Ultimate means it cannot be improved on. Yet it is both a manual lift, and manual fence. Both should be digital (to be 'ultimate') and also programmed with common joints. Also there is no sliding mitre sub-fence (best mounted on linear rails). Many would also claim that to be ultimate requires a cast-iron bed, ideally nickel plated. BTW, that is not a reed switch, is in a normal micro-switch (A reed switch is magnetically operated).

I think KZbin trends are turning into shorts too much, but I edited this video with long-form, which was popular before. Maybe it's because of my age, but I'm wondering if it's better to prefer short videos. Instead of taking in too much information, I hope there will be more videos that you can relax and enjoy. And I want to show you everything I can so that your time is not wasted. Thank you!

Thank you.

Please stop the insane mind numbing music. Had to mute it after 2 minutes in.

The BGM seems to have grown a lot again. Even though I always try, I can't find the default value. I will try harder.

You overshot the mark with this work, because you made a useless router table with an acrylic sheet that is just for show. There are too many electrical design solutions, all of which are sources of error. You like to go to extremes. The acrylic worktop is completely useless in the long run.
